The worse experience I’ve had at any VA facility across the last few months of being in this area. They drop the ball A LOT. I’ve been told several times by different departments I’ll get call backs from doctors or nurses - never happens. Prescriptions I was told would be put in didn’t happen until I went to a patient advocate. Even then, it wasn’t rectified. The front desk people call you then get an attitude because the lack of communication on their end. I’ll start driving an hour plus out the way before I continue to be see here. When it comes to your health and wellbeing, they do not care.
I started coming to this clinic when I moved here in Februrary, and I've never had a negative experience. Sure sometimes the appointments are a little far out, but you can't really blame them there's a lot of patients. I got dental work done there after being traumatized by the Naval dentists when I was still in the USMC, and they were so gentle and thorough that I ended up falling asleep in the chair. I've also had primary and prenatal/postpartum care here. Every provider I've seen and my husband has seen has been polite and efficient. Overall it's a great clinic to go to and definitely worth the drive.
I just got off the phone with a representative from Community Care at South Charlotte, VA. And that young lady told me that it is the standard operating procedure for the community care to NOT CALL the locations that they have contracts with to see who has the first available appointment. Their standard operating procedure is to call the veteran and tell them where these locations are and have the veteran blindly pick a location, not knowing if they'll be able to be seen in a timely manner. I can't fathom level of stupidity, even from the VA!
Showed up early for an appointment and they got me right in and removed the stitches and had me on my way in minutes! Professional, courteous, and respectful. God Bless
My experience with the VA in the past several years has been very good. My primary care physician is very caring and gives me her complete attention when I visit. Her staff is professional and friendly even when I have problems communicating their patient. I’m very grateful for them.
