About South Springs Dental Group
Based on South Academy Boulevard in Colorado Springs, Colorado, South Springs Dental Group is a dental practice serving the area. General dentistry covers the routine and restorative care most people need most often — examinations, cleanings, fillings, and preventive checks that catch problems while they are still small and inexpensive to treat. Regular attendance, roughly every six months for most patients, is what makes that early-catch approach actually work.
Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.
Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.
A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.
Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.
Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit. They are extremely nice and caring. The office stayed on top of all insurance issues and the staff is amazing. Definitely recommend
The staff at South Springs Dental are all very friendly, good, and professional. Front desk staff are very helpful. Glad we came here.
Doctor Khan is amazing! She set up a plan to get my dental health back on track. She was supportive and very informative. After several appointments, I have a new sense of confidence and enjoy showing my smile again. I will definitely recommend South Springs Dental Group to anyone I talk to!
I’ve had periodontal disease and deep gum pockets for more than 20 years. I was used to simply maintaining the condition and going in three times a year to make sure it didn’t get worse. I had some great hygienists over the years, so I assumed that was just the reality of living with it. Shortly after I became a patient here, I casually mentioned that to my hygienist, Nikki. I told her I didn’t think the pockets could actually improve—I thought the goal was just to keep them from getting worse. Nikki didn’t accept that. She took it seriously and went to work. She gave me the deepest cleaning of my life. I was definitely sore afterward, but for the first time in decades, my pocket measurements actually improved. Honestly, that experience made me a little more guarded about my dental care because it made me wonder why nobody had ever gotten those results before. If Nikki hadn’t stepped in, I never would have known improvement was even possible. Nikki is outstanding, and the new dentist who took over the practice has been wonderful as well. I’m incredibly grateful for the care I’ve received here and highly recommend this office.
Other than the fact that the Dental Group was overwhelmed with patients on the day of my appointment, the service I received was not only great, but the total time it took to complete my procedures was phenomenal and the results are extremely professional. I will definitely recommend South Springs Dental Group.
Friendly and caring. The desk staff took the time to help me instead of telling me to figure out my billing issue in my own. The assistant was helpful and checked in on me constantly. Doctor Kahn was very kind and efficient in the procedure. This is the first dentist office I have truly felt comfortable in and trusted in well over a decade. I would recommend them to anyone!
Excellence…I had a broken tooth and they saw me right away and offered the treatment plan and was able to resolve by the next day! Super efficient and kind when I was in pain. They made the experience less stressful. Highly recommend!
First timer here and I will recommend this to all military friends and anyone else looking for a dentist. This place from the start to the end of my first visit was so smooth- Cheri at the front desk was so kind on the phone. She took the time to answer my questions thoroughly and when she didn’t have the answer she grabbed a manager. I also got my appointment next day because there was a cancellation! I went in today and Brandon was my hygienist. He was so efficient! He did my X-rays and my check-up and talked with me while I blabbed on about my teeth. Dr. Khan came in shortly after and she was a ray of sunshine- I’ve never had a dentist with such a bubbly personality. She checked everything over then authorized my cleaning with Brandon and addressed the issues I was having- and put in an order for a night guard (because I need it). All that to say, I felt cared for and listened to. There was no pressure to do any additional treatments or unnecessary add-ons. I feel confident that I am in good hands. Looking forward to my cleaning!
