About South Tampa Smiles

South Tampa Smiles is a dental practice on Henderson Boulevard in the Culbreath Heights area of Tampa, Florida. Affordable care means the practice sets out to make treatment accessible on a self-pay basis or through a payment arrangement, rather than assuming every patient arrives with comprehensive insurance. It is worth asking directly what options exist before assuming a needed treatment is out of reach.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment. Frequently Asked Questions

Where is South Tampa Smiles located in Tampa?
South Tampa Smiles is on Henderson Boulevard in the Culbreath Heights area of Tampa, Florida (33629).
What days is South Tampa Smiles open?
South Tampa Smiles is open Monday through Saturday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does South Tampa Smiles offer?
Listed services at South Tampa Smiles include Affordable Dental Care. The full list is shown on this page.
Is it cheaper to treat a cavity early?
Almost always. A small cavity treated with a filling is a far smaller undertaking than the same tooth once decay has reached the nerve and needs root canal treatment and a crown. Cost tends to rise sharply the longer a problem is left.
Can I pay for dental work in instalments?
Some practices offer in-house payment arrangements and others work with third-party finance providers. Availability varies, so it is a fair question to ask when you first make contact rather than at the point of treatment.
Is it normal for teeth to be sensitive to cold?
Mild, brief sensitivity is common and often relates to exposed root surfaces or worn enamel. Sensitivity that lingers after the cold is removed is more significant and worth having examined, as it can indicate the nerve is involved.

Pleasant greeting from Emily at the front desk, Kelly was my next point of contact, as a new patient, she began the necessary xrays, then proclaimed "you have no teeth " I replied aim the camera higher above my chin..Lol.. Hehe haha Jk! After a painless cleaning, Dr Mack followed with a thorough exam. Overall, success indeed! The 99.00 new patient special was very helpful for me.

Had a great experience at this Dentist office. Sharon who cleaned my teeth was so professional and gentle with the cleaning process. I barely felt a thing and it's usually not like that in other Dental places I have been to. John the Dentist was nice and really cared about wanting to correct my teeth the way they are supposed to look like so I can be happy with my smile again. Great place and the office staff are nice and helpful too.

South Tampa Smiles truly sets the standard for exceptional dental care. From the moment I walked in, the level of professionalism and genuine kindness was unmatched. Bri and Emily took care of me, and I can confidently say they delivered the best customer service I have ever experienced at a dental office not just in South Tampa, but in all of Tampa, Florida. They were welcoming, attentive, and made the entire visit feel comfortable and stress-free. Everything was explained clearly, and I never felt rushed or overlooked. It’s rare to find a team that combines expertise with such warmth and care, but Bri and Emily did exactly that. If you’re looking for a dental office that truly prioritizes patients and delivers outstanding service, South Tampa Smiles is the place to go. Highly recommend!
