This place has gone downhill fast. I was previously a patient of Dr.Picot but stayed after he sold the practice because of the convenient location. He did good dental work, seemed like a bit of a pushy salesperson but to his credit his staff was very on top of billing and scheduling. They were also very responsive on the phones and even had a text option. I don't know who recently purchased the practice, but they have gone way downhill. Their accounting/billing system is terrible. Today I just received a bill in the mail from March. The only payment option presented on the form is to write a check or mail the form back with my credit card information on it. You go to the website, and they don't even have a link to pay online. I had to call the front desk and have the front desk person send me the link to my phone. How inefficient is that? It also turns out the vendor they use charges a 3% fee if you use a credit card. Not the case if you use a debit card. Of course, I had to ask the front desk person about the balance discrepancy for them to share this information with me. Is this practice that cheap that they have a terrible vendor that charges this fee or that they can't cover it themselves? Also if you call them, the prompt asks if you are a new patient and if you select that you are not it goes straight to VM. I wanted to address this payment ASAP so I called back and selected "new patient" and a representative picks up immediately. This goes to show me they are in it for the money, do not care about their current patients, and are not running a tight ship. I no longer trust them. I had an upcoming appointment that I canceled while on the phone making the payment. The front desk person asked if I was leaving the practice and I said "yes, I am" but she didn't even ask why or for any feedback. Not even a "sorry to see you go." She was pleasant and I do not solely blame her for their terrible accounting/payment system. This shows me the practice lacks care and leadership from the top, and that it trickles down to the staff
The best dentist ever!! the staff is always so friendly and informative! i love jasmine at the front who always make me feel welcome and at home and karen who does my cleanings is an absolute angel. she has never made me feel bad about my teeth and has helped me to make so much progress on my dental care journey. these wonderful people helped me get over my anxiety of going to the dentist 🖤
I observed a patient being offered free materials and services in exchange for taking down their honest review of this place. I personally was told that if my experience was not “5-stars” that I should not leave a review. Do NOT go here.
DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! THEY WILL SCAM YOU!!!!! I came here as it was close to my apartment and at the time had decent reviews. When I came in for a basic cleaning they told me I needed thousands of dollars of work done and kept pushing and pushing for me to get it done while I was there. I said no multiple times and they kept offering payment plans and credit applications. I got a very bad feeling and let. When I checked out the lady asked it I could come back the following Monday for the thousands of dollars of work and I told her I would have to check my work calendar but probably not. When Monday rolled around they called and said I missed an appointment and owed them an additional $50 because of that. I told them I never agreed or scheduled that appointment and wasn’t paying that and they said they were going to send it to collections. Which they legally cannot do. About a week ago I ended up getting a $290 bill in the mail for services I did not approve. Avoid this place at all costs. They take advantage of their patients. I was already wary of the dentist because of past experiences and this just made it much worse.
Visited here in September for the first time- Dr. Thatch told me I had 7 cavities (never had a cavity in my life) and needed a crown! I went to my hometown dentist for a second opinion following this- I left with one filling in the tooth that “needed a crown”. The cavity was so small my dentist didn’t have to numb me to perform the procedure (not to mention I paid $68…). Dr. Thatch was pressuring me to get the fillings and root canal done- as well as get my wisdom teeth removed immediately (and pay immediately). My wisdom teeth cause me no pain and aren’t causing any problems. My trusted hometown dentist saw no reason to remove them. South end dentistry gave me a $5,000 bill and expected me to pay a deposit immediately. If I haven’t cancelled the appointment they pressured me to make, I would’ve got stuck paying the majority of this, according to their contract. Overall this was a very sketchy experience- I recommend staying away - or getting a second opinion if you have a similar experience.
