About Southtown Dental Group

Southtown Dental Group provides general dental services to patients in the King William Historic District and Southtown area of downtown San Antonio from its office at 930 South Alamo Street, San Antonio, TX 78205. South Alamo Street at 930 in the King William area of the 78205 zip code is at the heart of one of San Antonio's most historic and architecturally celebrated neighborhoods — the King William Historic District, a Victorian-era enclave of grand nineteenth-century homes along the original bend of the San Antonio River just south of downtown.

The Southtown neighborhood — which encompasses King William and the broader South Alamo Street corridor — is one of San Antonio's most vibrant and walkable urban districts, populated by local restaurants, art galleries, boutique hotels, music venues, and a diverse residential community of historic homeowners, artists, and young professionals. Southtown Dental Group serves the dental needs of this urban neighborhood and the surrounding downtown community with professional general dental care accessible from the heart of SA's most culturally rich district.

Comprehensive oral examinations evaluate tooth structure, gum tissue health, bite alignment, and the condition of any existing restorations. Professional cleanings remove calculus and plaque deposits that accumulate between visits, supporting long-term gum health. For patients with active decay, the practice provides composite resin fillings that restore tooth integrity with a natural appearance. Dental crowns address more significantly damaged teeth, and extractions are performed when preservation is not feasible.

South Alamo Street at 930 is accessible by foot or bike from the King William and Southtown neighborhoods, with VIA Metropolitan Transit service on the South Alamo corridor and parking in the area. Southtown Dental Group is a general dental resource for the King William Historic District and Southtown San Antonio 78205 community.

Dr. Berger, dental hygienist, and assistant were all very calming and made me feel very comfortable despite my anxiety and severe toothache from a fractured tooth. In addition, the administrative and billing staff were kind and helpful. I’m from out of town and was treated very well. I’m grateful that I was referred to Southtown Dental.

I couldn’t attend my appointment on time today, and I was charged a $125 fee for the missed visit. Our family has been loyal patients at this dental practice for years. It seems they prioritize collecting fees over maintaining long-term customers. As a result, we’re switching to a new dentist.

I've been going to Southtown Dental for 19 years having bi annual dental cleaning as well as regular dental procedures. I had a cleaning on Monday 9/15/2025 that was what I equate to a National Hockey League game taking place in my mouth. Suffice it to say, I will not go back. Worst of all, I thought perhaps this was her first cleaning. Nope. My daughter had a similar experience in August by the same young lady. She was "nice", but that was all. At one point, her earpiece nearly fell into my mouth. Her head light was flickering throughout as if she were sending a code, among many other things. During the final stage the polisher appear to run out of energy/battery so she just rubbed my teeth with the device. For the first time I left with my teeth feeling less than clean and loaded with abrasions. Never have I ever.
