About Southtowns Dental Services

Southtowns Dental Services runs a general practice on Abbott Road in Lackawanna, a working-class suburb just south of the Buffalo city line. The catchment is the South Buffalo and Lackawanna communities — patients who've often had the same family dentist for years and want continuity over flash. The practice operates without the chain feel, with a smaller team that ends up knowing patients across appointments rather than starting from scratch each visit.

Filling work makes up a meaningful share of the day-to-day. Most cases are routine composite restorations for cavities caught at recall exams, but the team also handles bigger restorations when a tooth's been deteriorating for a while and needs more than a small filling. They'll be straight about when a filling will hold and when it really should be a crown instead — the structural call matters more than the patient's preference for a cheaper repair, because a filling that fails six months later costs more in the long run. Beyond fillings, the practice covers cleanings, exams, extractions, basic crowns, and root canal referrals.

If you've been putting off a recall visit because money's been tight, an honest exam here will tell you what genuinely needs work now versus what can safely wait six months.

Patients searching for same-day cavity filling in Buffalo, white filling for front tooth in Buffalo, or dentist for tooth fillings in Buffalo, NY who live south of the city often pass over downtown options for nearer-to-home practices like this one. Southtowns fits patients who value continuity and straightforward treatment plans. For South Buffalo, Lackawanna, and Hamburg-adjacent residents picking a regular general dentist, this Abbott Road practice is a sensible first appointment. The drive from downtown is short on a normal weekday, and the practice's parking situation is much friendlier than anything you'll find downtown, which is a small but real factor when you're trying to fit a routine appointment into a working schedule.

Based on Abbott Road in Lackawanna, New York, Southtowns Dental Services provides root canal treatment and emergency dentistry alongside routine dental care. The practice is open Monday through Friday. Contact details and a full list of services are on this page.

I just had some major work done this morning, I had 9 surgical extractions and had top dentures put in! The last place I was at gave me ptsd, I was horrified to have to do this today.......BUT let me tell you what, this place is the best!!! From start to finish the best!!!! Starting with the consultation everyone was sooo caring and explained everything to a T. Then came time for the procedure, Dr. Fielding and his assistant were on point and took care of me like I was their own. Stopped when I needed a minute and went through post care. Hands down the best dentistry around.

Southtowns Dental is extraordinary. I got an implant for my front tooth (it’s been 2 years and it is still perfect). They care — from the smallest issue to full repair. 10/10!

Can’t express enough how great this place is. My daughter fell and cracked her tooth in half and they were able to get her in immediately for an emergency appointment. They did amazing work she is autistic and they were able to navigate that in a very delicate way and made her feel comfortable.

What an incredible experience I had with Dr Bill!! For almost 60 years I have been petrified of going to the dentist BUT not anymore!! I just had major dental work and I felt NOTHING and absolutely no after effects from pain or swelling!! I cannot tell you how happy I am that I came across this Dr! Top of the line, knowledgeable and friendly!! Don’t wait like I did! Call now!

From the receptionist, to the hygienist, to the dentist, they all did an amazing job helping me with my teeth pain that I had sustained at work when I accidentally pulled a little too hard lifting something heavy at work which then I clenched my teeth too hard and mouth and teeth were sore for a little bit. But everybody was great took care of me the same day can't say enough about how practice and the people were amazing switching from where I used to go to here now!! Thank you!!

Highly recommend this business. I shamefully have not been to the dentist in over 5 years and they made me feel right at home. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating and the dentist I spoke with was very kind and explained everything great along with setting up a plan to get things in order. It surpassed my expectations since I have not had great experiences in the past. Had a tooth pulled and 2 root canals/crowns all in a visit today and I freaking love Dr. Fielding!! He knows what he’s doing and spot on. Highly recommend
