Dr Farnum is the best. I have decades of dental trauma, Dr Farnum saved me from a mouth full of mercury 10 years ago. I still thank him silently every day when I can eat. I live far from Tuscon so I haven't been back since. If only he would have done a poor job on my teeth, maybe I would have needed to go back. But his work is quality even with the abuse I give it. Thanks again and again. Best doctor I've ever met.

My insurance covered dentists that would only replace silver/amalgam with silver/amalgam and as I wanted those out, I fully explored my options. I went to Mexico for an opinion and called around in Tucson. I was able to get in with Dr. Farnum that week while the other bio-dentist was months out. During the consultation, he was professional, knowledgable, personable, and kind. He was also honest. I do not feel like he tried to do any more or less than what was best for my teeth. He addressed my concerns and answered all of my questions. It wasn't cheap but I'm confident that they will last many years. He and Cecilia are a great team and work well together which made the whole experience pleasant despite my anxiety with having my teeth worked on. I can't recommend them enough and my experience was positive in every way.

As I sit here with a much healthier mouth, I’m still in awe of what I’ve been so lucky to have experienced under Dr. Farnum’s and Cecilia’s expert care. I came to Dr. Farnum after ultimately having to leave my biological dentist because of bio-incompatibility with composites resulting in compounding problems, and my former biological dentist’s hubristic denial of that actuality. So, I went searching for that 1% of highly skilled, talented, dedicated biological dentists. And I found one right here in Tucson. COSTS Monetary Cost: I'm actually saving money while receiving exponentially higher quality treatment and materials. Other Costs: Mental, overall health, and the benefit of being heard -- these are immeasurable. This office has a clear objective: partner with each patient to devise an optimal solution, and execute that solution with the highest quality and lowest burden of cost to the patient. ENVIRONMENT One exam room, one doctor, one dental assistant. Both fully present for the duration of your appointment. You become a valued member of their community from the very first visit. We discussed and agreed upon a plan moving forward, and that plan was executed far beyond my expectations. Make no mistake. Dr. Farnum is gifted, completely devoid of hubris, and brings decades of extremely advanced skills to his practice. That’s very rare to find. Like many gifted people, he’s also a perfectionist, and when it comes to dental care, that becomes a superpower. He’s also got more energy than the average 30-year-old. Okay, 29-year-old. His infectious curiosity and hunger to learn and grow is part of what makes him such an effective healthcare provider, and (sadly) so rare. EQUIPMENT The priceless advanced equipment Dr. Farnum employs in his practice is a biological trifecta: brain, skill, and heart. No impressive-looking equipment that you end up paying for; he is the impressive equipment. PROCEDURE I’ve never experienced this level of skill before, and I feel very fortunate to have benefitted so profoundly. Dr. Farnum is hands-on for every aspect of dental care and treatment, as is Cecilia. And, they communicate so well, it’s practically telepathic. I also experienced something for the first time I couldn’t have imagined: there is an option to undergo a procedure without local anesthesia AND without pain. The biological alternative is a clamping method I didn’t even know existed. I had amalgam extractions on two molars, repair of a complex fracture from a composite and removal of composite, and removal of decay in those areas, down to the root, AND a complex bicuspid cavity. I was completely blown away, and I didn’t have to undergo injections, pain associated with the injections, ridding myself of the toxins in those injections, or recovery from those injections. And it was sooo much faster! Like many people, I have some dental phobia, so the fact that I had such an overwhelmingly positive experience is just mind blowing to me. (Actually, it was a transformative experience.) If you opt for anesthesia, my understanding is that Dr. Farnum has such an expert touch, that it's not uncommon for patients to not even realize the shots were administered until they start to feel numb. After experiencing complex treatment already, I have no doubt that’s true. So, no worries. Either way, you’re in gifted, expert care. I haven’t yet had the pleasure of meeting the third team member, Mary Cay Farnum, and am looking forward to meeting her in future visits. Many thanks to Dr. Farnum and Cecilia. What a gift, to find Dr. Farnum and his brilliant assistant, Cecelia. It's rare to see this level of experience, skill, commitment and mastery anywhere. I've needed many repairs the past few years and Dr. Farnum has approached each one with care and artistry, preserving my teeth and health with minimal impact and beautiful results. Dr Farnum does phenomenal work! I have been visiting Dr Farnum since I was a little girl, and it has been about 20 years. His quality of work is top notch and precise. He truly cares for his patients. Mary Kay, who assists with the scheduling as well as his assistant, Cecilia, are also both so friendly and wonderful! Highly recommend.
