Community dental care in Five Points, Denver
Smyleee Rating
Good
Stout Street Health Center is a community health center on Stout Street in the Five Points neighborhood of Denver, Colorado. The center provides dental care alongside a broad range of medical and other health services.
The dental clinic provides general dentistry — examinations, professional cleanings, tooth-colored fillings, and treatment for tooth decay and gum disease. Consistent preventive care is the most dependable way to keep teeth and gums healthy and to catch small problems early, before they need more involved treatment. Routine cleanings also clear the hardened tartar that home brushing cannot reach, supporting healthier gums between visits.
As a community health center, the clinic is set up to make care accessible to people who might otherwise go without it. Community health centers typically work with a range of insurance and public coverage and offer income-based fee assistance, so cost is less of a barrier to routine dental care. Patients are encouraged to contact the center directly to confirm current eligibility and what coverage applies.
Because the center brings together dental, medical, and other health services in one place, patients and families can reach more than one kind of care without traveling between providers.
A new-patient visit generally begins with an examination and cleaning, with any findings and recommended treatment explained clearly.
The Stout Street location serves the Five Points neighborhood and the wider central Denver community.

This clinic is LITERALLY the best health care experience I've ever had in my LIFE! For absolutely FREE you can be seen as a client on an emotional, physical, and mental level. Insurance or money is NOT required to be seen here. The staff are just lovely and they really do care about your well-being as a human. I receive free medication, therapy, and case management here. If you ever miss an appointment, you can always reschedule with no issues. This clinic also helps with dental and vision needs. My only complaint is this clinic never answers the phone so you must do everything in-person.
My therapist was great... But that's the only positive comment I have, I arrived at 9am and didn't get my prescription until almost 3 and I got to go to bed hungry because I couldn't make it to the gathering place for lunch... So make sure you clear your WHOLE DAY IF YOU HAVE TO PICK UP A PRESCRIPTION
Sorry for the length but this is absolute truth... Helping those who are in need is a hard job and I totally get it. They are all underpaid and unappreciated, and that really wears a person down. I get it. However...the whole place is very unorganized. You can see they try... But there's got to be a better way to shuffle patients through for treatment in a timely manner. Something has got to give here. The professional staff here is usually polite, friendly, yet kind and understanding. I see they do try hard to help you in a "whole person" way. PBut almost the whole year I've been going here, it's always a condescending.." I'm better than you" bs from the front desk ladies. There is absolutely no reason that the (mostly) vulnerable people that come for treatment at this health center should have this excessive stress dumped on them. Ladies at the front desk really need to hold back the negative behavior. If you start the conversation off with a negative attitude, common sense would tell ya that it's going to go bad. You wait in line forever while you're the only one standing there.. like hello? Apparently there's no staff mail. Couldn't drop papers off like I was told too bc the woman was not in that day. Advocate for yourself. Know your patient rights and know your own health related issues. There's no reason anyone should be treated this way at a Health Clinic or any where else. I've made complaints to numerous professionals. Got ignored every time. Overall, they offer many treatments. Eyes, dental, substance use disorder, general health, psychiatric counselors, case management, mental health counseling. They definitely need more staff all around. You have the ability to establish with a PCP if you like. But good luck getting an appointment with her that's not 3 months out. Walk-in's for the MAT(medical assisted treatment for SUD) clinic, plan to be there hours every visit. Get there a lil early than 1:00 to sign up for an MAT doctor's visit. The MAT clinic is upstairs, off the elevator it's a left, then left again you'll see the desk, it says closed all the time (have no idea why but it confuses people) then you have to see the doctor, after getting your vitals checked and a urine sample. There pretty chill once you get back there to a room. Nurses are usually always kind and helpful. Overall, if you can't get any where else for treatment that meets your needs, then by all means go if that's your only option. Edit: 08/24/25 This health center has gotten all little bit better so I upped the stars.
Fantastic Daniel Lewis and Team at Fort and Stout street are wonderful. I appreciate you all dealing me. I get turned around easy. Y'all keep me informed and on track.
This place has been my doctor’s office for over 10 years. The staff is great and the doctors really listen. This is a great place to receive care.
