About Swan Dentistry

Swan Dentistry operates on Northwest 135th Street in the Northwest Oklahoma City area of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Wisdom teeth are removed when they are impacted, repeatedly infected, decayed, or damaging the tooth in front, since they arrive last and often into a jaw with no room left. Not every wisdom tooth needs to come out — one that erupts cleanly and can be kept clean is often left alone.

Gum disease treatment ranges from a deeper professional cleaning for early inflammation through to more involved periodontal care once bone around the teeth has started to be affected. Bleeding gums are usually the earliest sign, and the early stage is reversible with proper cleaning and better daily plaque control.

Oral surgery covers procedures beyond routine treatment — surgical extractions including impacted wisdom teeth, implant placement, and bone grafting among the more common ones. The distinguishing feature is generally that tissue is opened and closed as part of the procedure, rather than treated at the surface.

Periodontics is the specialty focused on the gums and the bone supporting the teeth, handling more advanced gum disease, related surgical treatment, and — in many practices — dental implant placement, which sits naturally alongside that training.

Prosthetic dentistry is the branch concerned with replacing missing teeth and restoring damaged ones — dentures, bridges, crowns, and implant-supported restorations all sit within this area, chosen based on how much natural tooth and bone remain.

Comprehensive care generally means a practice can handle most of a patient's dental needs in-house — preventive, restorative, and often minor cosmetic or surgical treatment — reducing how often patients are referred elsewhere for routine work.

A filling repairs a tooth after decay has been cleaned out, most often using tooth-coloured composite resin that is shaped and bonded to blend with the surrounding tooth. It is usually completed in a single appointment and is one of the most routine restorative procedures in dentistry. Dr. Swan and his team were so kind and helpful! Dr. Swan used Neuromuscular dentistry to make me an orthotic that has helped tremendously to reduce the effects of my nighttime teeth grinding (neck/back tension, headaches, dizziness, and insomnia). It's a game changer and I would highly recommend it!

We had to switch dentists this year because our old dentist did not take our insurance. We loved our old dentist so it was a hard decision. We are incredibly grateful for doctor swan.We thought we couldn't get a better dentist but to our surprise, we did! He was so gentle and patient with me qnd my kiddos! The whole staff was incredibly kind, and you can tell they genuinely love what they do. My son had a cavity and even though it can be a scary thing, he made it the best experience that you can. I would a hundred percent go back.

Dr. Swan has been my dentist for over 15 years. I am always pleased with his work. I believe that he genuinely cares about my teeth. His staff is lovely. I will never enjoy dental appointments, but I do always look forward to seeing everyone at his office.

After my dentist of almost thirty years retired, I was apprehensive about starting with a new practice. Dr. Swan was highly recommended by some family members, and today was my first day to go for a cleaning. Dr. Swan and his staff were all so friendly, and I felt like both my cleaning and exam were extremely thorough. I’m very happy with our decision to move to Swan Dentistry!
