About Swiss Biologic Dentistry

Swiss Biologic Dentistry is a dental practice on North 7th Street in the Chumbley Place area of Phoenix, Arizona. Holistic, or biological, dentistry applies standard dental diagnosis and treatment within an approach that emphasises material choice and conservative treatment, considering oral health as connected to the body more broadly rather than treating the mouth in isolation.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit. What is holistic dentistry?
It is an approach that considers oral health in the context of overall health and tends to emphasise material choices and conservative treatment. The underlying clinical standards for diagnosing and treating dental disease remain the same.
Do holistic dentists use fillings without mercury?
Practices describing themselves this way typically favour tooth-coloured composite and ceramic materials over amalgam. If material choice is your reason for choosing a practice, it is worth confirming directly what they use.
How often should I have a dental check-up?
Every six months suits most people. If you have gum disease or a history of decay a dentist may suggest coming more often. The point of regular visits is mostly to catch problems while they are still small and cheap to treat.

I drive 45 minutes each way to go to this office. They are the best dental practice I could imagine for myself. You can feel their commitment to holistic health and viewing your oral hygiene within the context of the whole body. The entire team is great. Taylor is an all-star hygienist and just an awesome person who makes every visit smooth. She has incredible skill and knowledge, and she has set pretty much an impossible bar for anyone else to pass in terms of quality care. I know I am always in good hands! Drs. Ellingson and Yip are always really nice and offer sound advice. Mike in billing is a super helpful and kind person. The new office is clean and impressive. I won’t go anywhere else and recommend it to all. Thanks to the Swiss Biologic team!

A friend of mine was visiting from out of town and I brought her to an appointment. The office was very nice. Everyone seemed really friendly and welcoming. That is until it came time to leave. My friend was checking out and I was waiting in the waiting area. Really nice area with comfy furniture. It must have been closing time because a woman was turning off lamps as I was waiting on the couch, reading. She was also yelling goodbye to people, who i assume were employees. I asked her if we were holding her up and she stated "we close at 4:00!" I looked at my phone and it was 3:45! I looked her up on the website and it appears that she is the office manager! WOW! Next time I will wait in the car!

I’ve never had a more pleasant dental experience! From the clean facilities to the truly one-on-one customized care I never felt rushed. Everyone was extremely friendly and accommodating from the front office schedulers to the hygienist and the doctor. I can’t say enough lovely things about Dr. Yip, Gracie, and Taylor. There was one other hygienist who worked with me and I forgot her name but she was delightful as well! They care about your overall well-being and they schedule you more than enough time for a cleaning so they are not rushed and you’re not just another number. They treat you so well, excellent service level you rarely see anymore and I love it! Typically your first visit is an exam so they know exactly how in depth the cleaning will need to be and how much time to is needed for your second visit to dedicate to the cleaning. The pricing is transparent and clearly outlined. Thank you Swiss Biologic! I live out in East Gilbert and it was a long drive in, but would do it over and over again for the exceptional service and atmosphere! Fun fact for kids, they keep 2 turtles out in the beautiful landscaped courtyard that you can see trapsing around. Great place for kids and adults!

Amazing dentist! Everyone was super professional, friendly and kind. Took iodine before an x ray and only 1 is required every 1-2 years (depending on the health of your teeth) I was very overdue for a cleaning and the hygienist Gina was super nice, caring and gave me a great deep cleaning! She numbed my mouth and I felt nothing, she cared the whole time and was super nice. Had a great experience and excited to have a new dentist in Phoenix to go to.

This office was amazing! The office is beautiful and clean, staff very friendly. The doctor never made me feel rushed or like any question or comment was irritating or a bother. I was asked all the way through whether I was comfortable, and every effort was taken to ensure my comfort. I'm so very glad to have found this place and look forward to the treatment to come!

We took our kids here after trying several dentists and Dr Butler is excellent. The kids bonded with her and didn't have any fear about going to the dentist. Our first appointment was some heavy dental work, tooth extraction, and it went swimmingly well even though the appointment started off with my seven-year-old having a lot of anxiety about it. The doc gently explained everything to her and every tool to her and gave her knowledge and helped her feel empowered and then was very, very gentle and comforting and caring through the duration of the appointment. The kids can't wait to see the dentist.
