Tacoma Smiles Dentistry

Not transparent, not responsive & try to strong arm you into signing contracts or applying for care credit. I have been trying to get my refund from them since they overcharged me in March. There are a ton of ethical dentists out there, this one is not one of them. Stay away.

1 star — Don't come here, or at least do NOT trust their referrals. The dentist was fine. I got a cleaning, and the X-rays were free. My issue is what happens when they start making referrals. This clinic has in-house specialists they seem extremely eager to refer patients to. In my experience, I was told I needed additional dental work, which led to me paying a $100 specialist consultation fee, only to have the specialist tell me that the condition in question was not something she treated. I am not the only person has noted that the referrals are unwarranted and a money-making pipeline perpetuated by the corporate company that owns this location among many others. If you need a basic cleaning and X-rays, fine. But when they start telling you that you need additional work or referring you to their specialists, stop and verify it elsewhere before handing over more money. I would love a refund for my "specialist fee" I paid, but if I cannot get that at least I can stop this franchise from scamming more people.

I’m not going anywhere else. My former dental office just lost a patient. Tacoma Smiles has a host of professional staff ready to serve. Dr. Kang is an exceptional dentist of knowledge and integrity. I trust Dr. Kang’s evaluation of services needed. The staff work fluently together. Sadaf provides dental services alongside Dr. Kang and I’ve witnessed a sincere professional exchange between the two.

Couldn't have had a better experience at. Tacoma Smiles! Quick Summary: I needed urgent dental care, I was able to schedule a same day appointment, after evaluation I was able to get an immediate procedure. Dr. Kang and Sudaf were very skilled, professional, and kind! I do not currently have dental insurance, but they offered several different options, and I was able to split the balance into a few monthly payments. It was a huge relief to get such good dental care on such short notice and affordable, even without insurance. My molar cracked this morning while eating breakfast, I was worried about getting treatment last minute. I called several dentists and was able to get a quick appointment for evaluation at Tacoma Smiles. After evaluation it was determined that the tooth would need surgical extraction due to the crack and brittleness of the tooth. They had discussed trying to save the tooth, but due to prior procedures on the tooth, I preferred extraction for now. The overall price was lower than other clinics had quoted and I was able to sign up for a discount, for a small fee, that includes a discount on all future visits and free cleanings. Dr Kang and Sudaf were able to perform the procedure immediately and the procedure went great. Dr. Kang took time to ensure the numbing was effective and was very considerate, checking on if I was ok throughout the procedure. Overall, it was the best experience I've had with dental procedures from calling to schedule an appointment and discuss price quotes, to checking in, assessment and operation. Very professional and kind environment!

Had a wonderful new patient experience at Tacoma Smiles. Sadaf, Jayla, Jennifer, and Dr. Kang were all friendly and explained every step of the process, as well as laying out clear treatment plans. They were sympathetic and worked efficiently with more uncomfortable parts like x-rays to make them smooth, and the front office as well was efficient with check-ins and insurance matters. Highly recommend this practice!
