About Texas Dental Assisting Academy

Based on Farm to Market Road 78 in the Sunrise area of San Antonio, Texas, Texas Dental Assisting Academy is a dental practice serving the area. General dentistry covers the routine and restorative care most people need most often — examinations, cleanings, fillings, and preventive checks that catch problems while they are still small and inexpensive to treat. Regular attendance, roughly every six months for most patients, is what makes that early-catch approach actually work.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not. Fast pace teaching environment, a lot of information for a 13 week program but Britney is very thorough and patient. Hands on experience was great and Britney was willing and ready to step in if we needed assistance of any kind! Highly recommend this program!

I had a great experience completing my dental assistant course at this academy. The 13-week program is very comprehensive and truly teaches everything you need to become a great dental assistant. I learned so much throughout the course, from the fundamentals to the practical skills needed in a real dental setting. A special thank you to Brittney, the instructor. She is an amazing teacher, very patient, supportive, and always willing to help. She guided me throughout the entire process and made sure we really understood the material. Her classes are not only very informative but also fun and engaging, which made learning much easier and enjoyable. I highly recommend this program to anyone who is interested in becoming a dental assistant. The training is complete, the environment is supportive, and the instruction is excellent.

You learn so much with Brittney! She is so amazing and helpful throughout the entire process, the class itself was super fun and educational. Thanks to the class being accelerated and every Friday, working around my full-time schedule was a breeze. If I could sign up for the class all over again I would. Brittany works with you and is really sweet and understanding, she makes everything super easy as long as you work with her as well! I feel really confident thanks to my experience in class and during my externship continuing my career in this field. Everything you need to become a RDA is available through this 13 week program! Thank you Brittney for everything you do!

I searched and did a lot of school tours before I decided to take the jump and go here. It is a bit far from other schools for me but I am very glad that I decided to take this accelerated program. The course and materials are very well explained by Brittney. I really feel that I have been impacted enough to start and work with a dentist in the field. I definitely recommend this 13 week course. It definitely has changed my life and I’m excited to see where it takes me. Thanks for being such an amazing teacher Brittney!

They were professional, patient, and very gentle, which really helped calm my nerves. I appreciated how thorough and attentive they were during the entire process. I left feeling confident and cared for. I would highly recommend Brittany to anyone—both for their excellent skills and their kind, welcoming attitude.
