About The Croc Doc: Dentistry Just For Kids
The Croc Doc: Dentistry Just For Kids operates on Gateway Boulevard East in the Mission Valley area of El Paso, Texas. Pediatric dental care is built around treating children specifically — dentists with additional training in child development and behaviour management, and offices designed to make a first visit unintimidating. Guidance generally points to a child's first dental visit around age one or within six months of the first tooth.
General dentistry covers the routine and restorative care most people need most often — examinations, cleanings, fillings, and preventive checks that catch problems while they are still small and inexpensive to treat. Regular attendance, roughly every six months for most patients, is what makes that early-catch approach actually work.
Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.
Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.
Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.
Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. I will not be taking my kids here anymore. We were told my child had a cavity that needed a filling. I questioned the dentist and wanted more details but his demeanor and explanation didn’t seem honest. They tried to push for the filling to happen right then and there. My child had no discomfort, is very good about brushing and flossing, drinks mainly water, rarely has candy/sugar. I didn’t see a cavity on the xray and I felt they were being deceptive so I declined and took my child for a second opinion somewhere else. Just as I suspected, no cavity. Be careful taking your kids here. I wouldn’t trust their “recommendations”.

-efficient -kid friendly/personable -exceptional professionalism -affordable Our 7 year old son had a nasty fall, cracking his permanent front teeth. The first place we called could not guarantee treatment just an evaluation. The team with the Croc Doc said come on in and let’s see what the doctor could do. Wait time…phenomenal (especially for a Saturday!) I called right when they opened and was seen less than 10 minutes after appointment time. The doctor had a system seeing his patients (which was evident) to be extremely effective. We saw him faster than expected-given we technically were walk-ins. Assistant was very professional and treated our child with lots of TLC. The doctor gave us options, but we asked if he could repair the damage the same day which he informed us would be in between patients and he did give us a very realistic timeline. The fact we were not regular patients and this was an emergency visit. I was fully prepared to be there all day (we were there around 3 hours total)! Although he treated our child in between patients we had an assistant with our son the entire time. She was amazing. Very accommodating. Very nurturing. The dentist was able to repair the teeth without the broken parts and with a not-so-great photo. We were pleased with the work! One thing we experienced that I never saw in my 21 years as a mom was they gave the kids a blanket. Although most dentist offices are cold…they realize that and made the kids comfortable. I was thoroughly pleased with this experience!l (and may I remind you this was on a Saturday-with an unplanned visit). Hands down 5-Stars! I wished we lived closer or they would be our new dentist!
Eva and Dr. Amir are a great team! They both make our experience here at the croc doc wonderful!
Go somewhere else. That's the best advice I can give. My kids went to this dentist for YEARS before and after they had braces. My daughter had a procedure done that caused her retainer to not fit and suddenly they act like they knew nothing about it. Give me a break. They have all of her information. They should have said he was going to do crappy work and that her retainer wouldn't fit and that it's going to take a visit to the orthodontist to fix his shoddy work.
Great dentist office for kids, my daughter had some work done under general anesthesia and everything went smoothly. We felt comfortable with the team that came in and took care of her, the dentist has been great and her teeth are perfect! Highly recommend the Croc Doc for your kids.
Dr Amir was great! The staff was very polite and the nurse practitioner was so sweet and patient with my son while he was getting sealant and a filling. They were incredibly helpful and informative. I really don’t like going to the dentist but they really make the experience worth it!!!! ♥️
Absolutely love this place. Everyone is so friendly and nice. I feel like they do everything to make sure my little ones are comfortable and have a pleasent experience; very thankful for them. Nice setup for the kids as well. Always recommending to anyone in search of a pediatric dentist
