About The Dental Specialists Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry

The Dental Specialists Orthodontics & Pediatric Dentistry provides dental care on Nicollet Boulevard West in Burnsville, Minnesota. Implants are considered by many dentists the most durable way to replace a missing tooth, since the titanium post fuses with the jaw bone over several months and then supports a crown that functions much like a natural tooth. Enough healthy bone is the main prerequisite, and a graft can build that up first if needed.

Clear aligners straighten teeth through a series of custom, removable trays, each worn for one to two weeks before moving to the next in the sequence. They suit mild to moderate crowding and spacing well, and are worn roughly twenty to twenty-two hours a day for treatment to stay on schedule.

Traditional braces use brackets and wires to gradually move teeth into alignment, handling complex bite corrections and significant crowding more predictably than removable alternatives. Treatment commonly runs one to three years, with a retainer worn afterward to hold the result.

A crown covers an entire damaged tooth — used when too much structure is missing for a filling to hold reliably, whether from a large fracture, extensive decay, or after root canal treatment. It restores both the shape and the biting strength of the tooth underneath.

Gum disease treatment ranges from a deeper professional cleaning for early inflammation through to more involved periodontal care once bone around the teeth has started to be affected. Bleeding gums are usually the earliest sign, and the early stage is reversible with proper cleaning and better daily plaque control.

Dentures replace some or all of the natural teeth in a jaw with a removable appliance, custom-fitted to the mouth. A full denture replaces every tooth; a partial fills gaps where some natural teeth remain. Because the jaw bone reshapes over time, dentures typically need adjusting or remaking periodically. I called this dental clinic today seeking information because I have an impacted, chipped wisdom tooth and I am in pain. Unfortunately, my experience with the receptionist was extremely unpleasant. From the start, she was rude, snappy, and repeatedly talked over me. I was trying to explain why I was calling, but she would not allow me to finish a sentence. Had she let me speak, she would have clearly understood what I was asking. When she asked whether I needed a specialist and I said I wasn’t sure what she meant, instead of clarifying, her attitude became worse. She began cutting me off more and speaking to me slowly, responding in one-word answers like “referral,” which felt dismissive and disrespectful. Because I was already in pain and not calling to argue, I eventually hung up. No patient seeking care especially someone in pain should be treated this way. I hope management addresses how calls are handled, because this interaction alone made me decide not to move forward with this clinic.
