Dr. Montez was absolutely excellent. From the moment I arrived for surgery, I was met with kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. I never felt like I was simply another patient being moved through the process. I felt taken care of from the moment I walked in until the moment I was picked up to go home. Dr. Montez made sure I understood the risks and benefits of my surgery, and I left feeling well prepared for what recovery and my next steps would look like. There is something incredibly comforting about being able to place your health in someone’s hands and still feel informed, respected, and included in your own care. Nurse Cindy and Briana were phenomenal. By the time I left, they felt more like family than nurses. Isatu, Isatou, and Melissa were also incredibly helpful, kind, and FUNNY—which matters more than people realize when you’re in a hospital, vulnerable, nervous, and very much not wearing your own clothes. 😂 Mercy is an extraordinary hospital, and my experience there reminded me why I continue to trust them with my care. Before I was discharged, the Chaplain came to visit me. What I expected to be a brief conversation became one of the most beautiful moments of my entire stay. Somehow, God met both of us exactly where we were. She came into my room to offer something to me, and we ended up sharing something with each other. That moment will stay with me. Facing cancer is one of the most difficult experiences of my life, but I have been treated with genuine compassion, kindness, and respect every step of the way. My first visit with Dr. Beman Khulpateea was a very positive experience and exceeded my expectations. I came in feeling anxious, but from the beginning he was kind, attentive, and professional. He took the time to listen carefully to my concerns and made sure I felt comfortable throughout the visit. He completed a thorough evaluation of my symptoms and arranged the appropriate testing promptly, including same-day lab work, an ultrasound, and a mammogram. I also appreciated how clearly he explained each step of the process and took time to ensure I understood the information being shared. He additionally demonstrated how to perform a breast self-exam, which I found helpful. What stood out most was his calm, respectful manner and the care he showed during the appointment. I felt heard and treated with dignity, and my concerns were taken seriously throughout the visit. Overall, I left feeling reassured and grateful for the level of care I received. Dr. Khulpateea demonstrates strong medical expertise along with a thoughtful and patient-centered approach. I would recommend him to anyone seeking a gynecologic oncologist who provides thorough and compassionate care.

I did not want to use blood in my surgery but they refused to honor my request. They offered the machine called a cell saver which recycles your own blood in your body which is not supposed to be used in cancer patients since it can spread the cancer throughout the body. They are a religious hospital that does not respect other people's religious beliefs. I had to keep following up to get answers to questions and 2 weeks later still don't have answers. I even got a patient advocate involved and still no answer, so I am looking elsewhere for my surgery. They were a waste of time.

Excellent care. No wait time, very personal attention and she took her time with me. Very clear communications and thoughtfully answered all my questions. Very friendly and easy to talk to her and I trust that I am in good hands medically. I highly recommend.
