Wirt Road practice built around implant surgery and the prosthetics that finish the case.

About The Implantologist Dental Implants

A gap that has been open for six years is a different case from one that appeared last month. Bone narrows where the root used to be, the teeth on either side drift toward the space, and the tooth in the opposing jaw drops down to meet nothing. The Implantologist Dental Implants deals mainly with that version of the problem: replacing a tooth in a site that has already changed shape around its absence.

The practice is on Wirt Road in northwest Houston, just off the Katy Freeway where Spring Branch meets Memorial, which puts it within an easy drive of Spring Valley, Hedwig Village and the I-10 corridor without anyone having to go inside the Loop. It is a single-purpose office built around implant surgery and the prosthetics that finish the case, rather than a general practice that also places implants when asked. Surgical extraction, bone grafting, implant placement and full-mouth rehabilitation make up the working list. Set hours are not published for this location, so the first step is a call to arrange a consultation and a scan, and that first visit should be treated as diagnostic rather than as the day treatment begins.

What rebuilding a site involves depends entirely on what the scan shows. Where the ridge has narrowed, a graft widens it and then needs several months to mature before an implant can be placed with enough bone surrounding it. In the upper back jaw, the sinus floor often has to be lifted to create vertical height for a fixture of usable length. Both steps add time, and both add cost, which is the main reason implant quotes vary so widely between offices for what sounds on the phone like the same tooth.

It is fair to ask a surgically focused practice how the restoration gets completed: whether the crown or bridge is made here or by your own general dentist, and who you call if a screw loosens two years later. Ask which implant system is being used, too. Components matter down the line, when a part needs replacing and the brand determines whether that is a routine order or an awkward search.

A surgically focused implant practice at 1729 Wirt Road in northwest Houston, just off the Katy Freeway between Spring Branch and Memorial. Work centres on tooth replacement in sites that have lost bone: surgical extraction, ridge and sinus grafting, single and multiple implant placement, and full-mouth rehabilitation. Set opening hours are not published, so consultations and scans are arranged by phone. Reachable without entering the Loop from Spring Valley, Hedwig Village and the I-10 corridor.

Frequently Asked Questions

My tooth has been missing for years. Is an implant still realistic?
Usually yes, though the plan is longer. Bone resorbs where a root no longer transmits chewing forces, so an old site is often narrower and shorter than a fresh one, and neighbouring teeth may have tilted into the gap. Grafting can rebuild width, and a sinus lift can restore height in the upper back jaw. Those steps heal over months before placement, and orthodontic movement is sometimes needed to reopen the space properly.
Who makes the crown that goes on top of the implant?
Worth asking directly at the consultation, because surgical practices vary. Some place the implant and restore it themselves; others place the implant and send you back to your general dentist for the crown. Neither approach is wrong, but you want to know before you start who is responsible for the final fit, who adjusts the bite if it feels high, and who you contact if a screw loosens a year or two later.
What are the opening hours at the Wirt Road office?
Regular opening hours are not listed for this location, so the practical route is to call and arrange a consultation slot directly. Expect that first appointment to be an examination and a scan rather than surgery, since implant planning depends on seeing bone volume, nerve position and sinus anatomy in three dimensions. The office sits on Wirt Road a short distance from the Katy Freeway, with parking on site.

I took my dad here for dental implants for all of his mouth and he says he is very happy. The dentist here was recommended highly by his coworker from work. My mom is now considering dental implants due to both jobs, well done.

You can tell immediately if the place is going to be good right during consultation. The reason why is because during mine, he took very thoroughly xrays. He gave me very detailed advice and answered all my questions no matter how big how small the question was. Even if the consultation took longer than an hour he would still be there looking happy to answer all my concerns. I never felt rushed. While leaving I felt confident that I was in good hands

I came to this office because a friend told me about their experience here. I needed bone graft before starting my implant treatment and was a bit nervous. Dr. Chow took time to explain why the bone graft was necessary and how it would help with the implant later. The procedure went smoothly and discomfort afterward was very manageable. At my follow-up visit, the doctor checked everything carefully and explained how healing was progressing. The staff was supportive and gave clear instructions for after care. I feel confident and well taken care of here!

I came in specifically looking for a full arch solution because traditional dentures never worked well for me. After examining everything, the doctor recommended implant placement combined with tissue grafting to stabilize the gum line before building a full arch bridge. I appreciated that the explanation was detailed and backed by X-rays, photos, and a clear step-by-step treatment plan. Each stage of the process felt organized and predictable. The grafting created a much healthier foundation, and the implants integrated perfectly during healing. When the final full arch bridge was installed, the fit was extremely precise, and the function was better than I expected—no slipping, no pressure points, and chewing feels completely natural again. This was a major investment, but the quality of the work absolutely reflects it.
