I am deeply grateful to Dr. Hakim and his entire team for their extraordinary care, patience, and support over what ended up being a seven-year journey. I came to Dr. Hakim after living with 16+ years of debilitating TMJ pain. My case was severe and complex. Before finding his office, I tried quite literally everything under the sun to manage my pain - acupuncture, physical therapy, chiropractic care, Botox, muscle relaxants, electrical stimulation, magnesium supplements, wearing a night guard, neck traction, PRP. When none of that provided lasting relief, the only stone left unturned was doing orthodontic treatment for the third time in my life. Dr. Hakim took on my case when it was at its most daunting. After completing initial neuromuscular orthotic therapy to stabilize my jaw, I had to move to the Bay Area for work. He kindly referred me to specialists up there, but two different practices turned me away, stating they couldn't take on a case as complex as mine. Luckily, I moved back to LA a year later, restarted neuromuscular orthotic therapy with Dr. Hakim to equilibrate my bite, and then completed three years of braces. Having my braces off now is such a massive milestone. While TMJ is a long-term journey rather than something with an instant "magic cure," my condition has genuinely improved. I am so thankful for Dr. Hakim’s unwavering dedication, clinical expertise, and steady guidance throughout the entire process. I also want to give a special shoutout to Gaby, the orthodontic assistant I specifically requested to work with for my appointments. She was always so reassuring, and even during uncomfortable procedures like placing power chains or repositioning brackets, she was remarkably gentle and skilled. And at the front desk, Stephanie and Julissa are absolute top-tier! They were consistently kind, professional, proactive, and willing to go out of their way to squeeze me in for urgent appointments, making a stressful process so much easier to navigate. If you have a complex TMJ case and feel like you've run out of options, I cannot recommend Dr. Hakim and his team highly enough.

I had another wonderful experience with Dr. Hakim and his amazing team! He performed my orthodontic treatment back in 2018, and I returned today for another evaluation. As always, he was thorough, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. I especially appreciate his honesty and integrity in recommending what is truly best for his patients rather than unnecessary treatment. The entire team is warm, welcoming, and professional. I never needed braces as a child but my bite became misaligned in my 30s and required braces to fix it. I met with a few other orthodontists but they didn’t seem to confidently identify what was going on with my bite. When I met with Dr. Hakim he immediately knew what was going on with my bite and how to fix it. I was told my case was complicated and might require jaw surgery but I was thrilled that Dr. Hakim was able to fix my bite with only braces. I drive from San Diego and appreciate that the office is always willing to accommodate my schedule. My teeth look great and my bite is comfortable again!

We had the best experience with Dr. Hakim and his team dealing with mouth breathing and a visually uneven jawline for my teen son, and learning that the bite was uneven after Invisalign use at another orthodontist. Dr. Hakim helped my son with his bite, and after treatment ended, my sons bite is now even and he can work with the mouth breathing with more ease, now that one part of the underlying issue has been solved. Very pleasant and thorough guidance and treatment and always very friendly and comforting - both doctors and all the staff. Highly recommend. Thank you!
