The Proper 32

Helpful. Friendly. Not cannibals or zombies. Just good dentists who fix the bad work done by the previous dentist. I won't change to another dentist again. Unless i leave the state. Although if it's an nearby state I would totally drive back just to go to these guys

Best dental experience by a mile, not even close

Bonnie has done all my cleanings since becoming a member at Proper 32 and she is fantastic. She’s incredibly gentle, friendly, welcoming, and always makes the entire experience comfortable from start to finish. You can tell she genuinely cares about her patients and takes pride in what she does — every cleaning is thorough while still feeling relaxed and stress free. Bonnie has a way of making you feel completely at ease in the chair, and her kindness and professionalism are a huge part of why I keep coming back.

When this office first opened I decided to try it out because it was so fun looking. They had beer and kombucha on tap, a fire pit and taco Tuesday. Today, they had live music (even the musician couldn’t quite believe he was playing at a dentist 😂). But honestly what keeps me coming back is the quality of the dental care I get - the cleanings I get from Bonnie are so thorough yet gentle. All of the staff are incredibly friendly as well. Definitely recommend them 100%

This place is the best

I cannot recommend Halie enough as a dental hygienist. From the moment I sat in her chair, she made me feel completely at ease with her warm and welcoming personality. She is incredibly gentle yet thorough, and she takes the time to explain everything in a way that makes you feel comfortable and informed. Her attention to detail is outstanding—my teeth have never felt cleaner, and she goes above and beyond to make sure the entire experience is painless and stress-free. What really sets Halie apart is her genuine care for her patients; you can tell she truly loves what she does and is committed to helping you maintain your best smile. This place rules. First of all, the vibe is so good—it feels like you’re hanging out at a bar, and they have drinks and stuff. Everyone’s incredibly caring and makes sure you feel zero discomfort or pain, and they’re super nice. I bring my 7 year old here too, and even he had an amazing experience. He had to get a root canal and felt no pain at all. The other dentist we saw was just going to pull the tooth, but the doctor here took the time to save it and made sure it was done the best way possible for a kid. That meant a lot. Also, they’re not trying to upsell you or push stuff you don’t need. The doctor is actually honest and just wants to help. The quality is great, and I always feel like I’m in good hands here.

My husband and I have been going to Dr McDonald for many years and have always had a great experience. When they built the Proper 32 in Oceanside, we saw a new side of his practice. The Proper 32 is more than amazing dentistry and caring for patients, it is about caring about the community and neighboring businesses. The staff is very welcoming and caring and you don’t sit in the waiting room forever because they rarely run behind, but if you did, you can sit outside in their beautiful patio. You really look forward to your dental appointment to see your friends and neighbors and maybe hear some great music. I am thrilled that we have this special place to make me smile and look great while doing it.
