About The Rim Dental Care And Orthodontics

Based on Worth Parkway in the Far North Central area of San Antonio, Texas, The Rim Dental Care And Orthodontics is a dental practice serving the area. Orthodontic treatment straightens teeth and corrects bite problems using braces, clear aligners, or similar appliances over a period that commonly runs from about a year to several years depending on the case. It is offered to both children, where early evaluation can catch developing issues, and adults at any age.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less. My cleanings have routinely started up to an hour late, and the in-office experience has often felt unprofessional. Overall, the experiences have been consistently unsatisfactory. I would not recommend this office based on my visits.

Got me in very quickly and staff was super great - even with my bad fear of dentists. Had a tooth extraction and it went quickly and painlessly!

I had a veneer come loose on the weekend, called this place, some to someone, told them the exact issue and made an appointment. I came in and they gave me TWO ex rays only after that said WE CANNOT HELP YOU we don’t do veneers. They knew they could not treat me and falsely gave me ex rays thus running up a bill while never planning to help me. This place is super unethical they charged me $188 knowing they would not be able to address my issue. Complaint to state board is next step.

DO NOT come to this dental office. The dental assistant is also the office clerk. She’s running back and forth taking X-rays in the back and then helping patients in the front. The dentist checked my daughters teeth in less then 2 minutes. Zero urgency from the dentist and the assistant. Meanwhile, we got called back an hour after the scheduled appointment. My son was also scheduled. I canceled his appointment. We will not be returning here. They are a mess!

Stay away from this place. They scheduled me on a Saturday morning, when I showed up 5 minutes early, I waited 45 minutes before I went to find someone to ask how much longer I would have to wait. She then told me they were "short staff" and it would be another 15-20 minutes. I said no thank you and left. I received a mailer from them and decided to give it a shot, big mistake! Why send out a flyer without proper staffing!?!?

My husband and I booked back-to-back appointments here so we could hand off our toddler between cleanings and still get her home for her nap on time. I arrived for my appointment and waited over an hour with zero communication from the staff about delays. By the time my husband arrived for his appointment, I still had not been seen. We continued waiting, and eventually I had to tell the front desk I needed to leave with our daughter and cancel my appointment but keep his. He then sat for another 45 minutes past his scheduled appointment time before ultimately leaving as well. What made the experience worse was hearing from another patient in the waiting room that his fiancée had waited 2 hours the weekend before and was back for a rescheduled appointment. Another woman there had apparently also been waiting with her daughter for nearly 2 hours. It seemed they had multiple 11 a.m. appointments booked with little to no staffing to support them. The biggest issue was the complete lack of communication and respect for patients’ time. A simple phone call that morning explaining they were understaffed and needed to reschedule would have saved us from rearranging our entire day for nothing. I had even confirmed earlier in the week by phone that the timing of our appointments would work for our childcare situation, and was assured it would be fine. Delays happen. But saying nothing while patients sit for hours is unacceptable. We will not be returning.

For the first time I had a pleasant dental office experience! The staff were all so kind from the time I walked in, they were not only friendly to me but my family as well, they made sure to make conversation with my son who was with me as well, they explained everything and listened to my concerns without pushing for additional services that I was not interested in at the time! I enjoyed my experience here and am thankful I found them.

I had an appointment scheduled at Stillwater Dental on 4/4 for a cleaning on Wednesday, 4/8. While I was already on my way, I received a call informing me the office was closed that day. I was then rescheduled for Saturday, 4/11 at the Rim location. When I arrived, the office was closed yet again. I received no prior notification this time, resulting in multiple wasted trips and a very frustrating experience.

I’m sad to be writing this because my experience at Rim dental was great until now. This has NOTHING to do with the staff or procedure because they were awesome! I keep getting phone calls and keep being harassed saying I owe an OUTSTANDING bill. Apparently I never gave yall my insurance? Which makes zero sense because I was on Medicaid and I was able to get my teeth fixed 100% covered. So I’m not understanding why yall are trying to charge me over 2,000 dollars saying I never gave my insurance? So did yall just let me get my teeth done for free? Without me showing insurance or give card or cash? Makes absolutely no sense! Please whoever keeps calling me STOP. I refuse to be scammed.

First time visiting Rim Dental and I was quite impressed with the office, the staff and the efficiency of the process. It had been awhile since I’d had a checkup and I was comfortable with the procedures and appreciated how well they explained everything before they did anything. The dentist isn’t a place that people rush to but I would consider them to be my dentist for the future.
