About Total Health Dentistry

Total Health Dentistry operates on Northwest 63rd Street in the Central Oklahoma City area of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Holistic, or biological, dentistry applies standard dental diagnosis and treatment within an approach that emphasises material choice and conservative treatment, considering oral health as connected to the body more broadly rather than treating the mouth in isolation.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less. Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Total Health Dentistry located in Oklahoma City?
Total Health Dentistry is on Northwest 63rd Street in the Central Oklahoma City area of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (73116).
What days is Total Health Dentistry open?
Total Health Dentistry is open Monday through Thursday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does Total Health Dentistry offer?
Listed services at Total Health Dentistry include Holistic Dentistry. The full list is shown on this page.
What is the difference between holistic and cosmetic dentistry?
They overlap but are not the same thing. Cosmetic dentistry is about appearance specifically, while holistic dentistry is a broader philosophy about material choice and treating the mouth as connected to overall health, which can apply to any treatment including cosmetic work.
Is biological or holistic dentistry more expensive?
It can be, since ceramic and composite materials and more conservative techniques sometimes cost more than the cheapest alternative. Pricing varies by practice, so it is worth asking directly rather than assuming.
What causes bad breath and can a dentist help?
Persistent bad breath most often comes from bacteria on the tongue and around the gumline, and gum disease is a frequent underlying cause. Because it is usually oral in origin, a dental examination is a sensible first step.

Total Health Dentistry was able to get me in the same day for an emergency appointment to have a wisdom tooth extracted. Everyone was very professional, friendly, and worked efficiently. Dr. Spielmann is honest and caring. He got the tooth out quickly and checked on me later in the day. Wonderful atmosphere!

Dentist was kind, compassionate and followed up to ensure I was on and didn’t have any questions or problems after the procedure. Staff were just as nice as the dentist. They were informative regarding insurance, payments and ensuring I was comfortable. Very impressed on my first visit.

I have a hard time with dentists but was recommended to total health dentistry by one of my clients. I’ve had the best experience here, than any other dentist I’ve ever been to. Dr. Greg Spielmann is so kind, patient, and understanding. You can tell his entire staff care about the patients and quality of care we receive. I highly recommend, and will be a long term patient here.
