About TruCare Dental

TruCare Dental is a general dentistry practice located on Wyoming Boulevard Northeast in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Wyoming Blvd NE corridor is one of the primary north–south routes through Albuquerque’s Northeast Heights, one of the city’s most populated residential districts. The practice serves patients from the surrounding communities as well as those traveling from the Journal Center and Uptown areas.

The practice focuses on preventive and general dental care. Core services include routine dental examinations, professional teeth cleanings, dental X-rays, and basic restorative procedures. Preventive visits form the foundation of long-term oral health, helping patients keep their teeth and gums in good condition and identifying concerns such as cavities or early periodontal disease before they progress to more complex stages.

Professional cleanings during recall appointments remove hardened tartar that brushing alone cannot dislodge, protecting the gum line and the supporting bone that holds teeth in place. Early detection of decay allows restorations to be performed conservatively, preserving more of the natural tooth structure and reducing the overall cost and complexity of treatment.

Wyoming Boulevard NE runs from the Northeast Heights south toward the Albuquerque city center, connecting a broad range of residential neighborhoods including Coronado, Sandia Heights, and communities east of Kirtland Air Force Base. TruCare Dental’s location along this corridor makes it a practical choice for patients throughout the northeast quadrant of the city.

New patients are encouraged to contact TruCare Dental to learn about current scheduling, office hours, and any payment or insurance arrangements the practice supports. Having your insurance information and dental history available when you call can help the team set up your first appointment efficiently.

For Albuquerque residents on the Wyoming Boulevard NE corridor looking for convenient general dental care, TruCare Dental provides accessible routine dental services. Most patients benefit from dental check-ups at least every six months, and establishing a consistent schedule with a single local practice ensures continuity of care and accurate records over time. Use the contact details listed on this page to book an appointment or confirm current office hours and insurance acceptance.

I would not recommend TruCare Dental based on my personal experience. I was looking for a new dentist after my longtime dentist retired, so I decided to give TruCare Dental a try. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a dental office. I went in for X-rays, a cleaning, and a few fillings. From the moment I arrived, the office felt rushed. The staff seemed more focused on getting patients in and out than providing quality care and customer service. During my appointment, the dentist told me one of my fillings was very deep and would eventually fail, recommending that I get a crown. While I understand crowns are sometimes necessary, I felt pressured into making a decision. To make matters worse, after finishing my fillings, the dentist realized she had forgotten to fill another cavity on the same tooth and wanted to go back and do it. At that point, I had lost confidence and declined. The office offered financing through Cherry for the crown, and because I was worried about the cost, I agreed and made the required $104 down payment. The very next day, I decided I was no longer comfortable moving forward with the procedure and called to cancel both the crown and the financing. I was assured the cancellation request had been submitted. After more than a week with no change, I contacted Cherry and learned that TruCare Dental had never submitted the cancellation request. Only after I called the office again and informed them of what Cherry had told me was the financing finally canceled. I then waited for my $104 refund. TruCare Dental told me Cherry was responsible for refunding me, but Cherry explained they could only refund whatever amount the dental office returned to them. For nearly a month, I repeatedly called TruCare Dental and was told the person who handled refunds was unavailable. When I finally received an answer, I was told that $80 of my payment had been applied as a cancellation fee. I requested the remaining $24, but TruCare Dental claimed they had already sent it back to Cherry. When I contacted Cherry again, the representative reviewed the records and explained that TruCare Dental had not returned the amount they claimed. She was kind enough to conference-call TruCare Dental with me and provided documentation showing exactly what had been refunded. Even after Cherry provided proof, TruCare Dental initially continued to insist they had refunded the additional $24. Only after reviewing the documentation did truCare Dental acknowledge the discrepancy and tell me they would write me a check for the remaining $24 and call me when it was ready for pickup. As of today, I have still not received that phone call or the promised check.

I just left this dental office and I am telling you they are all phenomenal! Doctor, hygienist, front staff are all amazing! I used to leave the dentist office feeling bad about myself but this staff really makes you feel like a whole person! Thank you to Dr. Wright, Melanie and Natalie! See you next Wednesday!

Dr. Wright is so extremely nice! He doesn’t just tell you what he recommends , he explains why. He’s honest about procedures; and aftercare. I have bad dental anxiety, but he’s able to calm me without even knowing it. Thank you Dr. Wright. 🙏

I've been here a few times, I've appreciated the Dentists demeanor with myself and my children but whoever runs the office is consistently rude. Perhaps it's not the office manager but rather one of the front office ladies? Each time she calls she is rude and acts as if we are the ones taking up her time and bothering her. Is this how TruCare Dental feels about their patients behind closed doors? Idk so I cancelled my appointment and now "trumpet sounds" I don't have to deal with her anymore.

My disabled brother needed emergency dental work for a painful toothache. We were told his insurance wasn’t active, so we paid out of pocket. Later, Medicaid paid the office for the same services, but we still haven’t received our full refund—and it’s been since November. I’ve called multiple times and even spent hours in the office trying to speak to the office manager with no success. We’ve been completely ignored. I have no choice but to file a complaint with Medicaid to investigate.

My review is strictly on the ability to reach the office. This location does not answer the phone. They have an AI System that screens all calls. And then they never return your call . Very annoying when you’re just trying to get your prescription that they should’ve sent over already

Hands down, the BEST place I have ever been to for dental work. I had neglected going to the dentist for over 10 years bc of fear of the dentist. Dr. Matthew Wright is the best dentist I have ever been to. He is very down to Earth, patient, caring, understanding, time effecient, honest. I feel confident in him. I will forever use him for my dentist. Along with having the best dentist, the team at TruCare are very professional and so nice. Jason and Natalie are very good at their jobs. I have not had one bad appointment and I don't think I'm the best patient. Thank you very much TruCare for providing me such great dental care!

Finally got my teeth fixed after having an excessive amount of cavities and went back 6 months later (very recently) for a cleaning and I have been brushing very thoroughly and consistently. They informed me that I had a cavity underneath one of the fillings they did and a bunch of my filling are chipping so bad that they were gonna redo like 6. I’m very upset that they messed my teeth up after I finally had the courage to get them fixed. So sad how hard it is to find a trustworthy dentist

Be wary of this dental practice—they tend to over-recommend unnecessary procedures. I was told I needed a deep cleaning due to “bone loss,” 4+ pockets, and bleeding. When I said I preferred a regular cleaning instead, they told me they couldn’t accommodate that request and that a deep cleaning was mandatory. I didn’t feel this was accurate, and a friend who is a dentist agreed. So I went a different dental practice in Albuquerque for a second opinion. They found that, at most, a few areas were 3+, but most were 2+, and they even commented that my dental hygiene was better than many patients’. I was able to get a regular cleaning with no issues and did not need a deep cleaning. I’m glad I trusted my instincts and got another opinion. I’d strongly recommend doing the same before agreeing to costly procedures here.

This is the best dental practice I've been to in New Mexico. The entire staff is so helpful & awesome. Natalie is so nice and is on top of everything. Dr. Patterson is really caring and will make sure you feel comfortable. I've been to places in Santa Fe and they were no where near as attentive as the staff is here. Everyone is awesome and I'm really thankful.
