About UK Markey Cancer Center

UK Markey Cancer Center is located at 800 Rose Street, Pavilion CC, in Lexington, Kentucky — the comprehensive cancer center of the University of Kentucky HealthCare system, operating from the Rose Street UK HealthCare campus at the same 800 Rose Street address as the UK College of Dentistry and UK Dentistry Urgent Care Clinic. The Markey Cancer Center (officially the UK Markey Cancer Center and NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center) is one of two NCI-designated comprehensive cancer centers in Kentucky, operating from Pavilion CC (the Combs Cancer Center Pavilion) on the UK HealthCare campus. The Markey Cancer Center is not a dental clinic — it is a comprehensive oncology center providing cancer diagnosis, treatment, clinical trial participation, and supportive care services for patients across Kentucky and the surrounding Appalachian region. The listing in the Smyleee database with a General Dentistry tag likely reflects the shared address with UK College of Dentistry (800 Rose St), where a data source erroneously attributed the dental tag to the cancer center's street address listing. Patients seeking dental care at the UK HealthCare Rose Street campus should contact the UK College of Dentistry or UK Dentistry Urgent Care Clinic at 800 Rose Street — not the Markey Cancer Center, which provides oncology services exclusively.

UK Markey Cancer Center provides cancer care services for patients with malignant diagnoses including solid tumor cancers, hematologic malignancies, and other oncologic conditions requiring diagnosis, surgery, medical oncology (chemotherapy), radiation oncology, and supportive care. The NCI comprehensive cancer center designation recognizes Markey's research infrastructure, multidisciplinary care model, and clinical trial portfolio. For patients with head and neck cancers — including oral cavity cancers, oropharyngeal cancers, and salivary gland tumors — the Markey Cancer Center coordinates care with UK's oral surgery, otolaryngology (ENT), and radiation oncology departments, creating a multidisciplinary treatment team for oral and pharyngeal malignancies. Dental evaluation and dental clearance for patients undergoing head and neck radiation is coordinated through the UK College of Dentistry rather than the cancer center itself.

Rose Street's UK HealthCare campus position provides access from South Limestone Street and the UK campus transit network. The UK College of Dentistry at the same 800 Rose Street address provides dental care for the University of Kentucky campus and Lexington community through its teaching clinics.

For patients seeking dental care at the UK HealthCare Rose Street campus, please contact the UK College of Dentistry or UK Dentistry Urgent Care Clinic at 800 Rose Street. For oncology care needs, UK Markey Cancer Center at Pavilion CC provides the University of Kentucky's comprehensive cancer treatment and research services.

UK Markey Cancer Center, 800 Rose St Pavilion CC, Lexington ZIP 40536 — UK's NCI-designated cancer center at the Rose Street campus. NOT a dental practice; same address as UK College of Dentistry.

After seeing MD Anderson in Houston TX, I knew exactly what my treatment planned should inteal. Yearly scans and regular blood work to test for tumors markers. They "we don't do that" exact words. I switched to Babtist Healthcare and they had no problem following what one of the top cancer centers in the world treatment planned. Babtist Healthcare was confussed how they would know if my cancer returned. I asked them that too, didn't get a straight answer.

If I could give zero stars I would. The staff is rude they overbook. The cherry on top is having nurse practitioners that run the place that they have never treated any patients lwith my condition… that’s not the method to make me trust you. Then they made me fight to get preventative chemo because they don’t think it helps so I had to go to the va. No emotional support anywhere. Run away

Terrible experience My mother was a candidate for a clinic trail for her cancer at this facility. We come in for her consultation and right off the bat, the intake nurse was rude and extremely condescending the entire time when gathering information from my mother. The first doctor sent in was basically there to do a fluff show on us. She was very nice and sweet but basically told us the spot reserved for my mother had been filled. Dr. Patel came in afterwards and she gave my mother information that did not aligned with her primary cancer doctor in Louisville. There are more details but too much to write about. Just a waste of time and bad experience all around with lack of professionalism under Dr. Patel staff.
