About Union Ave Dental
Based on South Union Avenue in the Downtown area of Pueblo, Colorado, Union Ave Dental is a dental practice serving the area. A dental implant replaces a missing tooth at the root, not just the crown — a small titanium post is placed in the jaw bone and, once it has integrated over a period of months, a replacement tooth is attached to it. It is generally the most durable option for a single missing tooth or several.
Traditional braces use brackets and wires to gradually move teeth into alignment, handling complex bite corrections and significant crowding more predictably than removable alternatives. Treatment commonly runs one to three years, with a retainer worn afterward to hold the result.
A veneer is a thin custom shell bonded to the front of a tooth to change its shape, length, or colour, most often used to address chips, gaps, or discoloration that whitening alone cannot fix. Traditional veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed, which makes the change permanent.
Cosmetic treatment is generally the least invasive branch of dentistry, built around changing how teeth look rather than fixing something broken. Whitening and bonding sit at the lighter end; veneers and reshaping involve more planning. Most cosmetic dental insurance excludes this kind of work, since it is elective rather than medically necessary.
A crown covers an entire damaged tooth — used when too much structure is missing for a filling to hold reliably, whether from a large fracture, extensive decay, or after root canal treatment. It restores both the shape and the biting strength of the tooth underneath.
Dentures replace some or all of the natural teeth in a jaw with a removable appliance, custom-fitted to the mouth. A full denture replaces every tooth; a partial fills gaps where some natural teeth remain. Because the jaw bone reshapes over time, dentures typically need adjusting or remaking periodically. I saw Dr Knowlton and his staff today for a broken tooth. As someone with a serious aversion to the dentist, I came in with a lot of anxiety, questions, and nerves. Dr Knowlton, Kim, Breanna, Teresa, and Lovey were all SO wonderful to me. They reassured me, answered everything I asked, and treated me with kindness and compassion. So glad to have found a local dentist I can return to! 10/10. Update on 2/20/26: my husband and I went in for standard appointments and the staff was great as was Dr. K! We have definitely found our new dental provider.
Without a doubt, the best dental clinic in town, I highly recommend them.
Great in the back of house. Front of house is confrontational at the slightest hint of question or frustration (which came from previous non-notice of cancelled appointment). Non notice was due to a number change even though I had advised email was best method of contact. Rescheduled two months later. Then they changed my appointment time today for an hour earlier with no call just a text notice I saw as I woke up today. Front desk stated, “maybe we aren’t the right office for you” when I was perfectly pleasant with front desk front desk brought office manager out. Where I explained idk why she is out there and I just had questions and the front desk seemed to be having a bad day and taking it out on me because I like to have regular cleanings and maintain my teeth because they are just as important as my vehicle maintenance.
I was on the hunt for a new reliable dental office. My coworker highly recommended union dental and I'm so glad I booked with them. The dentist and his staff made me feel really comfortable and they also came up with a more cost effective way to address my toothache where at my previous dental office they would not even consider an alternative treatment and were going to change me a very hefty amount out of pocket
I haven't had a dental office I like for many years until now. Everything was A++, from the appointment scheduling to the staff and dentist himself. Especially impressed with how efficiently the hygienist worked without causing any discomfort. I am a busy nurse practitioner, and we live all the way over in Pueblo West, but THIS will be our family's permanent dental office.
I called to get in wondering if I would even get a call back because they haven’t called me back to get scheduled. But sure enough they called bright and early. Not to schedule me but to have attitude because I had a complaint And asked if I even wanted to be a patient anymore because of my opinion and I said well that’s why I called and she continues to say I can’t be a patient. What business does that? This just proves what their office is like. Good thing I consulted with another dentist already so no loss the dentist got me got me in right away. Plus I loved Dentist when I met him. Go to steel city dental! They will do you right. Would have said it on the phone when you called but your attitude caught me off guard when I was half asleep. Yes. I wanted you to see it. And everyone else so they know what treatment you will get.
this dental office is amazing! The hygienist is very thorough but yet pain free! The hygienist explains in depth what they’re going to do how long it should take and gives suggestions on how to improve dental health, which is very important. the hygienist works very well with elderly the disabled and children making them feel very comfortable in the chair ! You never have to wait long to be taken back for your appointment .Dr Knowlton is extremely knowledgeable and competent and providing dental care. I definitely recommend this office
