About Union Dental Center

Based on West 6th Street in the Westlake area of Los Angeles, California, Union Dental Center is a dental practice serving the area. Emergency dental care covers sudden problems that will not wait for a routine appointment — severe pain, a knocked-out or fractured tooth, swelling, or a lost filling that leaves a tooth exposed. Same-day or urgent appointments are the point of an emergency service, rather than the standard multi-week booking window.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Union Dental Center located in Los Angeles?
Union Dental Center is on West 6th Street in the Westlake area of Los Angeles, California (90017).
What days is Union Dental Center open?
Union Dental Center is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does Union Dental Center offer?
Listed services at Union Dental Center include Emergency Dentistry. The full list is shown on this page.
Is a dental abscess an emergency?
Yes. An abscess is an infection with a pocket of pus, and the risk is that it spreads into the jaw, neck, or airway. Facial swelling, fever, or difficulty swallowing means it should be treated as urgent rather than something to monitor at home.
Do I need an emergency appointment for a lost filling?
It depends on symptoms. A lost filling with no pain can often wait for a routine appointment, but the exposed tooth is more vulnerable to decay and fracture, so it should not be left indefinitely. Sharp pain or sensitivity to temperature moves it up the list.
Is it normal for teeth to be sensitive to cold?
Mild, brief sensitivity is common and often relates to exposed root surfaces or worn enamel. Sensitivity that lingers after the cold is removed is more significant and worth having examined, as it can indicate the nerve is involved.

Dr. Kang at Union Dental is absolutely first class. Once you walk inside this clinic, it’s a completely different world from DowntownLA— modern, spotless, high-tech, and incredibly professional. I had a very complex crown situation causing significant pain, and Dr. Kang and her team accommodated me immediately and completed everything pain free within about 3 hours. Truly incredible. What impressed me most is that they offer same-day crowns with advanced equipment — something that is still surprisingly rare even in many high-end dental offices. No temporary crown, no multiple visits, no hassle. The quality of care, efficiency, and professionalism exceeded my expectations. Dr. Kang is highly skilled, caring, and calm under pressure. I highly recommend her and Union Dental to anyone looking for exceptional dental care in Los Angeles.

Just had an excellent experience with Dr. Kang. Had a cracked tooth and even though they were extremely busy they still fit me in and got me accommodated. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Very nice dental office. Everyone was very professional including the receptionists. I was delaying going to the dentist for 2 years and I was so nervous but there was no judgement whatsoever. The doctor immediately looked at my teeth after x rays and calmly told me what I needed to be done. Will definitely be coming here often!
