About University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine

The University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine is the dental school clinic of the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, located at 13065 East 17th Avenue in Aurora, Colorado, 80045. The school clinic provides general dental care delivered by predoctoral dental students under the direct, chair-side supervision of licensed clinical faculty dentists, making it a publicly accessible care option for patients in Aurora and the broader Denver metro area.

General dental services available at the school clinic include comprehensive oral examinations, dental X-rays, professional cleanings, fillings, simple extractions, and other standard general dental procedures. Patients should anticipate that appointments will be longer than at a private practice, as student work is performed methodically and reviewed by supervising faculty at each stage. The educational environment means that the clinical focus is both on patient care and on ensuring students meet competency standards under faculty guidance.

Treatment at a dental school clinic is typically provided at educational clinical fees, which are often lower than private practice rates. Patients considering the school clinic for ongoing care should call to understand current fees, the intake and registration process, appointment availability, and which treatment types are offered at the student clinic versus through graduate or specialist programs at the school.

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is located in east Aurora near the intersection of East 17th Avenue and Wheeling Street, adjacent to UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital. The campus is accessible from East Colfax Avenue and East Montview Boulevard, with RTD bus routes serving the campus. Campus parking structures are available for patients driving to appointments.

The School of Dental Medicine is a Colorado public institution with a significant role in training the state’s dental workforce. For patients in the Aurora and Denver metro area who are uninsured, underinsured, or looking for an affordable dental care alternative, the school clinic provides an option with faculty oversight on the Anschutz campus.

The University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine at the Anschutz Medical Campus is an important Colorado public dental health resource providing care at educational fees under faculty supervision. Patients interested in this option should contact the school directly to understand the intake process, which procedures are available through the predoctoral student clinic versus through graduate specialty programs, the current fee schedule, and how to register as a new patient at this Aurora campus.

I’ve been coming to the dental clinics here for over a year now to get a dental implant and crown put in place for a tooth that I have been missing for three years, and I have been impressed at the level of care I received. I was seen/treated by three different dental residents (Drs Lee and Carter in the general practice clinic, and Dr Gamache in the graduate periodontics clinic) over the course of the year, and they were each, by far, some of the best dentists that I’ve ever received treatment from. They each had excellent bedside manner, explained each step of the process clearly, and made sure that all of my questions were answered. I recommend both clinics and each of them for any dental needs that you might need!

I love going to the dental students. They take longer because they are practicing, but the care and concern is 100%

Just finished having Kiranjot Sandhu repair, rebuild and take care of several issues with my teeth. There are some more items to be taken care of on another floor. I would like to take a minute and give a great review to CU Dental for accepting me in the program to address the issues I have had with my teeth. I love coming here! Especially I want to commend Kiranjot with the highest appreciation and incredible care she has shared with me. Her kindness, her gentleness and overall an amazing wonderful experience. Thank you for such great care in fixing my teeth and getting to having you for my dental care giver has truly been awesome! Going to miss coming to see you!

I am writing to express my sincere gratitude and admiration for the exceptional care and dedication demonstrated by the students at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. I would like to specifically recognize the following three students for their outstanding professionalism, compassion, and commitment to patient care: • Tiffany Thuy Nguyen • Gam Oganesean • Chloe Patterson These three remarkable individuals worked diligently and with great attention to detail to restore my smile. Their efforts have had a profound impact on my confidence, well-being, and overall quality of life. Throughout my treatment, they consistently demonstrated patience, kindness, technical excellence, and a genuine commitment to ensuring the best possible outcome. The care I received reflects the high standards of education, professionalism, and service; instills in its students. It is clear that your institution is developing not only highly skilled dental professionals but also compassionate individuals who truly care about their patients. Please extend my heartfelt appreciation to Tiffany, Gam, Chloe, and their supervising faculty members. I am deeply grateful for the outstanding care I received and for the positive difference they have made in my life. Thank you for all that you do to educate and support the next generation of dental professionals. Warm regards, Juan Carlos ( jc )

Hello, I was seen by a student, Miss Priyanka, who is already a doctor in India. She took great care of me and did an extremely thorough cleaning. I have never had such a detailed examination of my mouth before. She carefully checked my gums, teeth, and even the inside of my cheeks. She performed the cleaning using an ultrasonic device and prescribed a fluoride toothpaste. She also did a filling and referred me to one of the best TMJ doctors. She was always very responsive whenever I needed to make an appointment and was excellent with follow-ups. She is amazing, and I wish her nothing but success in her career. I truly wish all doctors were like her.

The CU Anschutz School of Dental Medicine in Aurora gives exceptional care for my son with special dental challenges. I have been able to get dental care for my son in the clinic reducing the need for general anesthesia as often. Dr. Susan Somerset is fantastic and has made my son’s dental visit free of anxiety. She is the first dentist that has been able to clean his teeth in a clinic. The entire dental team, the front desk, and Marisela are all kind and patient! Marisela is organized and helps us with our appointments. She was amazing as she helped me with my son’s intake. I am very grateful for the Special Care Clinic. I would give a ten star rating!
