I am not the one to leave reviews or even bad ones, I eat the wrong order just not to be inconvenient but after today I just had to. I’ve been a patient for years and never had a problem. Called to today asking on how to close my account and pay a bill (I was advised do that to one of the students) and the lady was so so rude. For like what? Then I called to ask for my records and the lady sounded dead and unhelpful. I get it that work with public is exhausting but if the person on the other line is being nothing but respectful and genuinely asking a question, what’s the deal? The first one took me for a completely idiot talking to me as I was 5yo. How am I supposed to know we do not close the accounts? A simple “you don’t have to, once you pay your balances and do not schedule any appointments, you’re fine”. Her tone was so condescending and annoyed that for the first time I felt bad.

Unprofessional Communication, Lack of Accountability, and Constant Misdirection I am deeply disappointed with the administrative handling and patient care at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. My experience here has been an absolute waste of time and an exercise in extreme frustration due to misleading information and terrible communication. I initially contacted their Student Practice, explicitly stating my need for limited orthodontic treatment. I explained my specific situation clearly: my second molar had lost its adjacent tooth and was tipping forward, requiring orthodontic uprighting to create space for a future implant. After repeated clarifications on my end, they scheduled an initial consultation for me. However, only after completing the evaluation was I casually informed that student clinics do not handle limited orthodontic cases and that I needed to be referred to the Faculty Practice. When I followed up in person with the front desk, I was told the manager would review my situation and that treatment could proceed once approved. In a subsequent phone call, the manager informed me that no decision could be made until after July, pending faculty availability. It has only gotten worse since then. Every time I call for an update, I am met with continuous excuses and contradictory statements: Staff repeatedly claimed the manager was "unavailable." When I asked for an email address or a call-back timeframe, I was blatantly told that the manager "no longer works here." No one takes responsibility, no clear answers are given, and I am left in endless limbo with zero follow-up or care plan. If a clinic cannot accommodate a specific treatment, that should be communicated upfront before wasting a patient's time and money on initial visits. The total lack of transparency, misleading claims from staff, and complete disregard for patient care management are utterly unacceptable for an institution of this stature. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere if you expect professional service and basic accountability.

I am deeply disappointed with the level of care and communication I have experienced. For several months, I have been suffering from severe wisdom tooth pain and have made numerous attempts to contact this office. Unfortunately, my calls frequently went unanswered, and on multiple occasions I traveled to the office only to find it closed. As my condition worsened, I sought treatment at the emergency room. I was specifically instructed to arrive at this office before 8:00 a.m. on Monday for urgent dental care. I arrived early, only to discover that the office did not open until 9:00 a.m. I returned the following day, only to be informed that urgent care appointments had already been discontinued by 9:30 a.m. When I asked what time I should arrive to increase my chances of being seen, I was told there was no specific time and that I should simply "come early." This process is confusing, inconsistent, and places an unnecessary burden on patients who are already in significant pain. Without clear communication regarding office hours, urgent care availability, or a reliable way to reach staff by phone, obtaining timely treatment becomes unnecessarily difficult. Patients seeking urgent dental care deserve a clear, organized, and accessible process. My experience has been both frustrating and discouraging, and I sincerely hope improvements are made so that others do not face the same obstacles while seeking relief from serious dental pain. Very helpful doctors

I was seen by student states she does.not commuicate with patients about the work she is doing. Several times started give a shot with out my permission. Not organized. Left me up in air while doing procedure. One tooth hit a nerve have get root canal. Had not problem per xrays . Then student could not find old records. She referred me did not give number or where togo for Endo clinic. Said she did not know the number. I have been there year now. She has graduated so I have wait for services. Receptionist all but one was the most helpful. Go with caution. Get questions up front. Do not agree anything you do not want. Two teeth find had abcess with one other needs root canal because she hit a nerve. Student will not be honest with Teacher, cover up work and denied it. Lied !!!.Becareful.

The process of simply making an appontment is ridiculous. Not even worth the trouble. I'll go to Howard. You guys are killing yourselves. Edit: went to Howard University and they couldn't help me. Called here again to go through this BS process and pay a bunch of money knowing they might not even treat me, and then you tell me this process could take over a year? Are you kidding me? Like is that a joke? Unbelievable.
