I have been going to UWSD for about a year starting wlith a tooth extraction to a tooth implant. Dr .Shirely explained each procedure step by step. He is very professional, gentle and thorough. He is an outstanding dentist and his bedside manner is very calming. The Front Desk Coordinator is very pleasant and provides excellent customer services. I highly recommend this team. .

I had an emergency tooth extraction here and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The doctor made what could have been a stressful situation so much calmer than I expected. A few things that really stood out: • They offer laughing gas to help with dental anxiety, which made a huge difference for me • The doctor actually listens when you tell him something hurts and adjusts accordingly - no brushing off your concerns • He provided a clear treatment plan with estimated costs, organized by priority so you know what needs attention first • While they offer cosmetic services, there’s zero pressure - you can choose what you want done without feeling pushed into anything If you’re someone who gets anxious about dental work or have had bad experiences elsewhere, I’d highly recommend giving this practice a try.

I started going to UWS Dental this year and have had such a positive experience. Dr. Shirley is very thorough and truly wants what is best for his patients. I tried a few other dental offices before this one, but none were as organized, reliable, and good as this one. Definitely the place to go if you’re looking for a permanent dentist in the city. I am so thankful I’ve started seeing Dr. Shirley. My husband and I are both patients and we both have had great experiences, namely with receiving fillings. My husband told me that this was the first time a filling was not painful, he said “for the first time I didn’t feel anything!” That made me feel comfortable enough to move forward with scheduling a filling replacement/new filling at UWS dental. I have extreme dental anxiety and tried his sedation through nitrous oxide. My body didn’t respond well to it and it made me very jittery and anxious, so I asked him to remove it and continue the filling without the nitrous. He was so calm and patient with me. I was nearly jumping out of the chair while he was trying to work. Seriously, I was the worst type of patient he could have had! He said “I’m not rushing on this, I’ve been in your position before, I understand.” I just felt so cared for and was so pleased with this experience. The filling itself is smooth and comfortable— no complaints there. Dr. Shirley did his best to make a really uncomfortable procedure a pleasant one.
