About Valley Implants and Oral Surgery | Dr. Travis Sorensen D.D.S.

Losing a back tooth rarely announces itself as a crisis. It is more often a slow accumulation: a root canal that failed, a crown that came off one too many times, a gap you learned to chew around. Then a dentist mentions that the bone underneath is thinning and the neighboring teeth are drifting into the space. That is the conversation that sends most people in Davis County looking for an implant surgeon.

Valley Implants and Oral Surgery is Dr. Travis Sorensen's practice, on the second floor at 625 East 500 South in Bountiful, a block off the 500 South connector that links US-89 with the I-15 interchange. That puts it within roughly ten minutes of Woods Cross, North Salt Lake, Centerville and much of Farmington, without anyone having to cross into Salt Lake traffic. Dr. Sorensen is a board-certified oral surgeon with more than a decade in practice, and the office also runs a second location in Pleasant View, north of Ogden. Weekday hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with no weekend clinic.

The service list reflects a surgical practice weighted toward implants and reconstruction: implant placement, bone grafting, pre-prosthetic surgery to prepare a ridge for dentures, wisdom tooth extraction, exposure of impacted canines for orthodontic treatment, oral pathology, and platelet-rich plasma and PRF injections for the jaw joint. Low-radiation 3D imaging is used to map nerve position and bone volume before surgery is planned. Sedation is tailored to the procedure and to your medical history rather than offered as a single default setting, and emergency oral surgery is part of what the office covers.

One honest caveat on implants: the surgeon places the fixture, but the crown or bridge that sits on it is usually made by your general dentist, so the total cost is split across two offices and the two quotes need to be added together before you decide anything. Grafting, sinus work and the number of units all move the figure. Ask for the imaging findings in plain language, meaning how much bone is actually there and how close the nerve runs, because that is what determines your plan.

Dr. Travis Sorensen's board-certified oral surgery practice at 625 East 500 South in Bountiful leans toward implants and reconstruction, covering placement, bone grafting, pre-prosthetic surgery, wisdom teeth and impacted canines, planned from low-radiation 3D imaging with sedation matched to your medical history. Weekday 8-to-5 hours and a Davis County address keep patients out of Salt Lake traffic, with a second office in Pleasant View.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Bountiful office convenient if I live in Davis County but work in Salt Lake?
The office sits on 500 South, a short block from the connector between US-89 and I-15, so it is a quick exit for anyone commuting the Davis County stretch, and roughly ten minutes from Woods Cross, North Salt Lake and Centerville. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays, with nothing on weekends. There is also a second office in Pleasant View if Ogden suits you better.
Why do I need a 3D scan before a dental implant?
A standard dental x-ray is flat, and implants are placed in three dimensions. The scan shows how much bone height and width you actually have, where the sinus floor sits in the upper jaw, and how close the inferior alveolar nerve runs in the lower jaw. Those measurements set implant length and angle and decide whether grafting is needed first, which is not something to determine by guesswork.
Will I be asleep for the surgery?
Sedation is chosen case by case here rather than applied uniformly, and the right level depends on how complex the surgery is, how anxious you are, and your medical history, since heart, lung and airway conditions and current medications all factor in. Bring a full medication list, including supplements and blood thinners, to the consultation. If sedation is used, arrange for someone to drive you home and stay with you.

I arrived expecting my new insurance to cover at least some of my visit today..... so I was upset that my insurance didn't give me what I expected it to give me! Yalitza helped me figure it out and was very patient with me! Tyler is great! I've loved interacting with him on every visit! His parents live in my neighborhood so it's great to see a familiar face on a stressful day! Dr Sorensen was kind and careful and offered great, pain free care extracting my problematic tooth! Shalice was very thorough and sweet with my care instructions. My life right now is really hard so to have such a positive and pain free tooth extraction is priceless! It was also great that they accept care credit as payment and the price was very reasonable! Much less than I expected! I highly recommend this practice to help you too!

Dr. Sorensen was so great. I was amazed that he called me the afternoon of my surgery to check on me. The staff is so nice and the office is clean. I wish I could have all my dental experiences be as good as this.
