About Vanderbilt Dental Clinic
Vanderbilt Dental Clinic operates on Belcourt Avenue in the Hillsboro West End area of Nashville, Tennessee. At the core of a general dental practice is preventive and restorative care: checkups, professional cleanings, fillings, and screening for decay and gum disease before either becomes a bigger problem. It is the kind of appointment most people need on a routine schedule rather than only when something hurts.
Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.
Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.
Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.
Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.
Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less. Abriael was an absolute delight! she went above and beyond for my son. A lot of times hygienist are pushy and just routine but she went the extra mile to make him feel cared for, understood, and seen. Also me as a mom just meeting her person to person she's such an angel literally the sweetest! I pray that more people in this world were like her. Also Doctor Lim was so thorough, explained every single thing also gave me advice and made sure that everything was understood and if Jason or I had ANY questions. THANKFUL, GRATEFUL to have had them caring for Jason. VANDERBILT DENTAL CLINIC WAS SUCH A BLESSING TO BOTH ME AND JASON (((THANK YA'LL 💗)))
Sylvia was amazing!!!! Very thorough and professional!!!! She did the best Cleaning I’ve ever had
THEY CLEANED MY TEETH VERY WELL
The actual providers are decent, but someone needs to take care of their office staff. Completely disrespectful. Also, read up on the Tennessee “No Surprise Act” and stop scamming your customers with balance billing. Disgusting practice.
Two good things I can say about this place of care: Jodi, the hygienist and free parking. After going to this office for 4 years, I have since gone to another care provider only to find out that I have several areas of concern which will cost me thousands of dollars to correct. All I ever got at Vanderbilt was "great home care" or "yeah, it's a crack but it doesn't go all the way through". See ya and thanks for nothing!
Dr. Rezk and the rest of the Vanderbilt Dental Clinic staff are wonderful. Dr. Rezk seems to be an outstanding dentist and professional in all aspects of her dental care. I highly recommend Dr. Rezk and her clinical team.
This is the worst disorganized customer care in the industry. I had oral surgery there less than 6 months ago for the second time. I made another appointment with the same Oral Surgeon. I called to confirm they had everything they needed. The phone agent assured me they did. Drove an hour to the appointment and arrived early. When I am taken into the back I am told they have no records x-rays ect, even though I was just there in March and can see the notes on my health. I was reprimanded when I explained that I had called in and double-checked before arriving. Again I was told there was no record of this...when I showed her the call log from my cell phone I was chastised for calling the dental clinic and that this was ORAL Surgery and I would need to reschedule. Nope...Not likely.
This office is very unprofessional. My daughter had a wisdom tooth extraction performed in the Vanderbilt Dental Clinic. A week later she came to me and asked if this was normal, pointing at her teeth. I looked in her mouth and was surprised to see that her gums were completely detached from her teeth. She also told me she was still experiencing extreme pain on her lower right side. When I called the office to make an emergency appointment, they asked me to take a picture of it and send the picture via My Vanderbilt health. The nurse showed zero compassion and the office flat out refused to assess my daughter in person. As a dental professional myself, I know handling an emergency in this way is unheard of in a professional setting. How could they possibly accurately assess her from an iPhone picture. Even if they could properly assess the situation from a picture taken at home, how could they assess the pain in that way? I would avoid this clinic if possible and I plan to warn other professionals not to send their patients here.
