About Vermont Endodontics
Based on Hinesburg Road in South Burlington, Vermont, Vermont Endodontics is a dental practice serving the area. Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and seals the space, and allows the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. Its reputation for being painful is largely outdated — carried out under local anaesthetic, it typically relieves pain rather than causing it.
Oral surgery covers procedures beyond routine treatment — surgical extractions including impacted wisdom teeth, implant placement, and bone grafting among the more common ones. The distinguishing feature is generally that tissue is opened and closed as part of the procedure, rather than treated at the surface.
Endodontic treatment concerns the nerve and pulp inside the tooth, most commonly through root canal treatment and retreatment of a previously treated tooth. Endodontists take on the more complex cases, including teeth with unusual root anatomy or a root canal that did not fully resolve.
An extraction removes a tooth that cannot reasonably be saved — from advanced decay, severe infection, impaction, or overcrowding ahead of orthodontic treatment. Done under local anaesthetic, the appointment itself is not painful, though soreness for a few days afterward is normal.
General dentistry covers the routine and restorative care most people need most often — examinations, cleanings, fillings, and preventive checks that catch problems while they are still small and inexpensive to treat. Regular attendance, roughly every six months for most patients, is what makes that early-catch approach actually work.
Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent. They were great and made me so comfortable! If I could give them a 10 - I surely would. Thank you.
Vermont Endodontics was great! They did a root canal for me and I couldn't be more pleased. The staff made me feel at ease, and was very professional. I would recommend them very much.
For two months I had been suffering from tooth pain after a neck surgery in May. Two different dentists said it was a sinus infection and didn’t want to help me. I went online and found Vermont Endodontists and they got me in within a few days. Other specialists couldn’t get me in for over a month for an appointment, and I knew I couldn’t wait that long because of the pain and possible infection brewing. I drove 2 hours to get there and was so nervous that I was going to be pushed aside again and made to feel like I was crazy. However, that was not the case. They determined the cause of my pain within minutes of taking 3D exrays. Cracked tooth with bad infection. They got on the phone immediately to reach out to oral surgeon. I got an appointment to have the tooth removed right then and there. The doctor had me follow her over in her car because I wasn’t familiar with the area and my phone map wasn’t working well. Within an hour the bad tooth was removed and I was on my way home. ABSOLUTELY BEST CARE I HAVE RECEIVED IN A LONG TIME. TRUST ME, I HAVE BEEN THROUGH A LOT HEALTH WISE AND THESE LADIES KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING. I apologize for not remembering any names of who helped me, it was such a whirlwind. Hands down, amazing top notch place. Thank you Vermont Endodontics! You saved me!
After reading other reviews, I decided to see Dr. Barria for my first ever root canal. She did not disappoint. Dr. Barria obviously enjoys her work and wants to make her patients as comfortable as possible. She is extremely gentle and checked in with me every step of the way, providing a completely painless procedure. Office staff and assistants are all very friendly and efficient, and the office itself is beyond spotless. Overall, a great experience.
Another pleasurable experience, if that can be said about a root canal! Staff members were very pleasant, and the dentist was efficient and sympathetic. There was absolutely no pain, either during the procedure nor during the recovery period. It’s been about 30 hours since the visit, and as of yet, no pain relievers have been necessary. I realize this could be different next time, but I would not hesitate to use this practice again.
