About Washington Center for Dentistry

Washington Center for Dentistry is located at Suite 800, 1430 K Street Northwest in Washington DC's 20005 zip code — on the eighth floor of a K Street NW office building in the downtown DC professional district. The 1430 K Street address is on the stretch of K Street between 14th Street and 15th Street NW, at the eastern edge of the K Street lobbying and law firm corridor near Thomas Circle and the downtown professional core. Suite 800 is a high-floor office suite with presumably elevated views over the K Street streetscape.

The Washington Center for Dentistry name claims a comprehensive scope — a "center" for dentistry in Washington DC rather than a named-individual practice or a narrowly-specialty clinic. This naming strategy signals breadth of services and a desire to be the patient's comprehensive dental reference, not just one of several specialty providers. A K Street address at the 1430 block serves the dense professional population of downtown DC's government-adjacent lobbying corridor.

General dental care at Washington Center for Dentistry covers comprehensive oral examinations, professional cleanings, restorative treatments, diagnostic imaging, and management of dental health. The K Street NW location is accessible from the McPherson Square and Metro Center Metro stations and the surrounding downtown DC professional street network.

For downtown DC professionals on the K Street corridor who want a comprehensively-named dental center at 1430 K Street NW — with eighth-floor suite access and proximity to the Thomas Circle area — Washington Center for Dentistry at Suite 800 provides all-scope dental care in the professional heart of downtown Washington.

Comprehensive-named dental center at 1430 K St NW Suite 800 in Washington DC's downtown professional district, on the K Street lobbying corridor near Thomas Circle and McPherson Square.

Do not let the slick marketing of the Washington Center for Dentistry fool you. My experience with Dr. Michael Katsaros revealed a practice that prioritizes aggressive financial shake-downs and predatory billing over actual patient care. I went in for a consultation and was charged an astronomical $1,700.00. Dr. Katsaros explicitly assured me this money would be a deposit applied directly to my eventual treatment plan. However, before they would even begin my dental work, they forced me into an insular "buddy network" of specialists. They refused to let me see my own trusted endodontist, mandating I see theirs (Dr. Hetz), who charged a staggering $980.00 for basic X-rays and an explanation—a service that typically costs around $200.00. Before a single drill or instrument even touched my teeth for treatment, I was already out $2,680.00. When I questioned why my treatment was constantly being delayed while being funneled to yet another expensive specialist (Dr. Kazemi), the clinical manager changed the story entirely. I was told the initial $1,700.00 was no longer a deposit, but an entirely non-refundable "planning fee" for an amateurish, photoshopped digital smile presentation that looked completely unnatural. Furthermore, Dr. Katsaros’s clinical solution to a minor gum asymmetry was shocking: he suggested cutting into my perfectly healthy, good-looking gum on a separate tooth just to make it match the irregular one. Realizing the lack of professionalism, I officially canceled my treatment plan. Dr. Katsaros called me twice to try and keep my business, and when I stood firm, he explicitly promised me a full refund for the remaining balance. He even emailed me confirming that he authorized his accounting team to process it. It has been months, and I have never received a single dime. They have entirely reneged on their written promise and stolen my money. His own emails reveal that they don't even have a standardized chart of costs; they calculate prices arbitrarily after the fact to maximize what they can withhold from you. This practice operates like a predatory corporation, not a healthcare provider. Save your health, your cash, and your sanity—go somewhere else.

I’ve been a patient at Washington Center for Dentistry since 1990 — first under the extraordinary care of Dr. Deutsch until his retirement, and now with the equally expert Dr. Katsaros. Across the many procedures I’ve had over the years — from implants to laser treatments — the doctors and staff have been a godsend. One thing I’ve especially appreciated is how consistently they’ve kept me pain-free, which has always been a tremendous relief whenever I arrived feeling anxious about treatment. Dr. Katsaros is unfailingly positive, energetic, and deeply reassuring. He communicates a genuine joy in his work, and that immediately puts patients at ease. He’s also been remarkably effective at finding creative solutions to several longstanding dental problems I’ve faced over the years, and every one of those solutions has worked. The Hygiene Team and Dental Assistants are wonderful as well. Special shout-outs to Annie and Maria for their exceptional care, kindness, and professionalism. I truly can’t recommend this practice highly enough.

I had an excellent experience at Washington Center for Dentistry. The entire staff was professional, kind, and very easy to work with from start to finish. They were transparent about pricing, explained everything clearly, and made me feel very comfortable throughout the appointment. The office itself is beautiful and calming, and I’m very glad I chose them for my dental care. Highly recommend. They go above and beyond.

I've been a patient of Dr. Elana Shlansky at the Washington Center for Dentistry for many years, and I wouldn't trust my dental care to anyone else. Dr. Shlansky is simply outstanding — she combines warmth and a personable manner with the highest level of professional competence. She takes the time to explain everything clearly, and I always feel confident that I'm getting the best possible care. I also want to give a special acknowledgment to Annie Buzzard, whose work as a hygienist is top-notch. She's thorough, gentle, and makes every cleaning a comfortable experience. Every visit, I know I've been well taken care of.

Beyond this legacy, they are also recognized for the compassion they combine with care. As a patient for over 20 years. I can attest to their strong attention to personalized care, steady commitment and welcome compassion in the delivery of their services. They are excellent in identifying problems and then going the extra mile to fine tune a workable solution. They are masters of dental medicine, accompanied by very able staff who never fail to be cheerful and helpful.
