About West Columbia Family Dentistry
West Columbia Family Dentistry is built around one household bringing every generation to the same chair -- a parent's crown, a teenager's whitening consult, a grandparent's gum-disease follow-up, all on one clinic's schedule. Rather than narrowing to a single specialty, the practice keeps its scope wide: routine checkups sit alongside restorative and cosmetic work, and urgent problems get worked in rather than turned away. That range is useful if your family would otherwise be juggling separate specialists for a cavity, a cracked crown, and a teeth-whitening question in the same month.
Day to day, the practice handles cleanings and cavity treatment (fillings), plus crowns and bridges for teeth that are broken, worn down, or missing -- a crown caps a damaged tooth, while a bridge anchors on neighboring teeth to fill the gap left by one that's gone. Root canal treatment clears infection from inside a tooth's nerve as an alternative to pulling it, and gum disease treatment addresses the earlier stages before bone loss sets in. Teeth whitening is offered as its own service, not folded into a cosmetic package. A broken tooth, a lost filling, or sudden pain is treated as same-day work, and extractions remain an option when a tooth can't reasonably be saved.
If you're already coming in for a filling and notice a corner of a back tooth wearing thin, it's a reasonable place to ask about a crown in the same visit instead of starting over somewhere else.
Cost depends entirely on what's needed -- a simple filling and a root canal followed by a crown are priced very differently, and a real quote only comes after the tooth in question has actually been examined. West Columbia Family Dentistry lists affordable dental care among its services, which is worth asking about directly rather than assuming what it covers for your specific procedure. For a Platt Springs Road practice handling routine cleanings as readily as an emergency chip or a gum concern, this reads like a clinic meant for ongoing care -- one a family could keep returning to over the years.
West Columbia Family Dentistry on Platt Springs Road in West Columbia, SC offers cleanings, fillings, crowns, bridges, root canals, gum disease treatment, whitening, extractions, and emergency care -- a general practice for families needing routine and urgent care in one place.

They are very kind and knowledgeable, easy to do business with from entry to check out. Enjoyed their professional attitudes..
The team is efficient and very friendly. My dentist was very knowledgeable and explained me all I needed to know and the procedure that took place. Very friendly and his work excelente! I’m very please with West Columbia Family Dentistry.
Friendly staff and fast service
I had a very pleasant experience during my moat recent visit. In fact, it's always a great experience. My hygienist, Myra, is the best. She is very professional.
The dental hygienist was a fill in. She butchered my gums. The dentist recommended $1000’s of dental work even though I’m seen every 6 months by their practice. The staff was so busy scheduling people for procedures that I had to leave because I had to go to work. The hygienist did not know how to look up future appointments. I have to schedule a year in advance to get a morning appointment because all of the morning appointments are given to new patients instead of loyal customers. The front desk assistant said she was too new to look up my next 6th month appointment or schedule the next one. Turn over for staff and hygienists is regular. Pricing is much higher than other practices in the area. My regular dentist quit. They don’t allow payment plans for expensive work. They demand that you obtain credit so they are paid up front.
Will never come here again. Went in for a broken tooth and a lot of pain. They have all of this fancy equipment- digital 3D scanner, advanced detection mapping and xray but they fixed the wrong tooth! I get home to find that I am in extreme pain, $1200 for a crown I did not need and they did not fix the tooth. I called them back and they said oh, please comeback to see us and we will see what happened. I go back, and the dentist still looks like she is asleep or on sedatives, and she is like oh, I guess that just broke. I showed her on the old digital scan where the broken tooth was and her response was, ok, we will give you a treatment plan price… which pissed me off. I paid another $600 and all she did was patch it up. Let’s go back to the tooth that did not need to be worked on. They told me I needed a crown because the old tooth was too far gone and I thought they were talking about the broken tooth so I authorized everything and I had to go back a third time because the temporary crown popped off since it was not properly secured. The fourth time to get my permanent crown everything went fine, however, the reason for my rant today is because my crown which has been in my mouth for a few months, decided to pop out in one piece and they could not fit me in for an emergency. I have heart conditions and to have an exposed tooth become infected would’ve been a bad day for me. So I would never come here again take your chances here their prices are inflated because of all the toys they want to impress you with. Those toys do nothing for providing Excellent care.
Dr C Wonderful as always explained everything g to me and answered my questions to the fullest. Kaylee was the sweetest and a excellent Assistant so very caring. Front desk was great as well, hope she checks me out next visit. Don't remember her name but she was sitting in front of the popcorn machine.
I have been going to this office for the last couple of years. I made an appointment a couple of weeks ago to get my back tooth fixed because it felt like it had chipped some. My appointment was today at 9:30 AM. I arrived around 9:15 AM. I explained that I was not in any pain. And I just wanted my tooth fixed. They proceeded to do x-rays. I asked if this was covered by my insurance and they said that it was. After the x-rays, the doctor came in and said that she saw the tooth and that I could possibly get a bridge or some kind of replacement to a tooth that I got pulled over 15 years ago and I told her that I would look at the pricing, but I really want my back tooth fixed today. I waited for over an hour to get the finance options. With my insurance I was told that I only have two options and the cheapest option was over $650. I asked for a cheaper option. Because I had taken a little bit of time off of work and I just wanted that one to fix. I felt very pressured to either apply for a credit card or credit financing to get what they wanted me to get done. I had to practically beg to try to get my tooth fixed today. I asked for a filling several times and they said that they couldn’t do that. After me asking several times, they offered to do some kind of buildup and fix another small Area on another tooth where a part of a filling had come out. I explained that I did not have a lot of time and I wanted that one tooth fixed for the day. I ended up leaving about an hour and a half after I had arrived with no resolve to my situation. I explained that I was trying to be preventative and get the tooth fixed before it starts to be in pain and I asked them to give me some kind of resolve. They said that I can pay $150 today to fix more than just that tooth. But I only wanted that one tooth fixed. I will be and I am already looking for another dentist. I felt very pressured and bullied to have my credit checked and put more items on my credit and pay interest. At this point, I feel very uncomfortable returning to the practice.
I had a surgical extraction with a bone graft and a filling, and I was honestly very scared going in. But Dr. C and Marquise took such great care of me and made the whole experience so much easier. Dr. C was very skilled, patient, and made sure I stayed as comfortable as possible the entire time. I felt like I was in good hands from start to finish. Marquise was amazing, very caring, attentive, and reassuring throughout everything. She also placed my temporary perfectly on the first try and my bite felt right immediately, which really stood out to me. The whole team was kind, professional, and made me feel supported the entire time. I truly appreciate the level of care I received and would highly recommend them.
