About West Shore Endodontics

Based on West Swann Avenue in the South Tampa area of Tampa, Florida, West Shore Endodontics is a dental practice serving the area. Root canal treatment removes infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and seals the space, and allows the natural tooth to be kept rather than extracted. Its reputation for being painful is largely outdated — carried out under local anaesthetic, it typically relieves pain rather than causing it.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent. This page has the practice's contact details and full service list. What days is West Shore Endodontics open?
West Shore Endodontics is open Monday through Friday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does West Shore Endodontics offer?
Listed services at West Shore Endodontics include Root Canal Treatment. The full list is shown on this page.
How many appointments does root canal treatment take?
It can sometimes be completed in one visit, though more complex teeth with several canals may need two. Which applies depends on the tooth involved and whether there is active infection to settle first.
Is a root canal as painful as people say?
The reputation is largely outdated. The procedure is carried out under local anaesthetic and is usually no more uncomfortable than having a filling. The severe pain people associate with root canals is generally the infection beforehand, which the treatment relieves.
Is it normal for teeth to be sensitive to cold?
Mild, brief sensitivity is common and often relates to exposed root surfaces or worn enamel. Sensitivity that lingers after the cold is removed is more significant and worth having examined, as it can indicate the nerve is involved.

Met this doctor for the first time for a root canal. Quick, easy and painless. On top of that, we spoke our native languages which was also comforting. Nice work doc!

When I was in severe pain and needed a root canal, I chose to drive an hour from Wesley Chapel to South Tampa to see Dr. Hamoui and Julie—and I would do it again without hesitation. Their care, attention to detail, and flexibility are truly top-notch. They took the time to explain everything, made sure I was comfortable, and turned a stressful experience into a positive one. If you need an endodontist, I highly recommend this practice. The exceptional care is well worth the drive.

Best experience ever. Had a last minute root canal yesterday. The staff was super friendly. I had ZERO PAIN and the procedure took 45 mins. The Doc gave me updates through out....."we're in the root", "25% done, 50% done"....etc. He made getting a root canal simple. Today, still no pain. Do not go to anyone else if you need a root canal. This man is THE BEST! Can't say enough good things.

I had a great experience at West Shore Endodontics. Dr. Hamoui and his entire team were knowledgeable, professional, and very welcoming. From the receptionist to the assistants, everyone made the process smooth and comfortable. The clinic is very clean and equipped with modern, advanced technology. I came in unable to smile and left with a big one on my face. I’ve always been nervous about dental visits since I was a kid, but this experience completely changed my perspective. I highly recommend Dr. Hamoui and his team to anyone needing endodontic care.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Hanny Hamnoui and his team, and I am so glad I found Westshore Endodontics. From the very first call, they were incredibly responsive and accommodating—they were able to see me the same day when I was in significant pain, which I truly appreciated. Dr. Hamnoui was extremely approachable and professional. He took the time to carefully review my images with me, clearly explain what was going on, and walk me through the next steps. I felt informed and reassured throughout the entire process. He was able to quickly identify the problem and treat it effectively. The procedure itself was completely painless, which honestly exceeded my expectations. His assistant was also wonderful—very kind, attentive, and supportive throughout the visit. What stood out the most was the level of care even after the treatment. They followed up to check on how I was doing, which really shows how much they care about their patients. I highly recommend Dr. Hanny Hamnoui to anyone in need of an endodontist—professional, compassionate, and truly excellent care from start to finish.
