I have never experienced such consistently unprofessional, disrespectful, and discriminatory behavior from a medical office. This was our third visit dealing with the same unacceptable treatment from the front desk staff to the disrespectful office manager. Despite receiving text message appointment confirmations, the front desk employees flat out refused to acknowledge our appointment, then proceeded to speak to us in a demeaning and insulting manner. What made this situation even more disturbing was the clear discriminatory attitude once they realized our insurance was MediCal. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, we were acted sarcastically and dismissively that “maybe you don’t have an appointment,” implying it was because of our insurance. That is unacceptable, unethical, and discriminatory. Lastly they escalated the situation further by being openly disrespectful, dismissive, and completely unwilling to resolve the issue. There was no accountability, no apology, and no attempt to verify their own confirmation system. This is a dental office, not a place to humiliate patients. Insurance type does not give staff the right to insult, stereotype, or deny confirmed appointments. I strongly advise ANYONE especially MediCal patients to think twice before coming here. Patients deserve RESPECT, dignity, and basic professionalism, none of which were provided. I expect a formal response from Western Dental management, because this behavior reflects a serious failure in staff training, leadership, and patient care!
They have been great in the process from a small premolar extraction and implant I needed. The doctor guided me for best plan of action to straighten my teeth and fill a gap I had on my other side while extracting the tooth for future implant. The team is not 2-3 people, but a maze of professionals from the front desk to the finance specialist, to the surgeons, orthodontist, dentist and full team; about 11 people (can 10-20 professionals at one time in building) have seen my mouth in 3 visits and I am very please knowing that I have a full team of knowledgeable professionals all giving their input and expertise specialty work to my mouth! It's nice and very important that you go to a place such as this to get full access to many specialists because they work as a team to come up with the best solution to your case. The location to me is ideal, the price is ideal, the options to fit your needs is ideal, and the comfort of how they make you feel is ideal. If you want to feel safe and secure with final results to your dental needs, don't take my word for it, or just the dentist; but important to see different experts in one building working in unison. You want a team working in unisons that operates as a cohesive, synchronized unit, sharing a common goal and collaborating seamlessly to maximize efficiency and achieve superior results. -Alex Guzman
If i could give 0 stars i would, just got off a 48 min call ( on hold ) where i was past from dept to department, hung up on earlier, also told someone could return my call this morning. They did not. They claim i have a co pay of $1,600 ! Which is my ex husbands insurance. My insurance has corrected the problem and the staff, business manager, Hilda, claims she cant help me. My primary dentist called insurance, and received the corrections, and treated me??? Absolutely unprofessional staff and lazy, notbone will call
Ive been going here for 6 months, thr staff are so friendly and nice and especially Benny from ortho department, always makes a conversation he is super cool.🥰❤️.
My experience this time was very horrible I've been to Western Dental quite a few times in my life and never felt this uncomfortable. I wanted to put on record that I was going nervous and only to pull out a infected tooth the dentist lady asked me if I would like to pull out a additional tooth that's also going bad and I informed her that I did not want to because I want to wait in order to make sure that I can get a bone graft immediately after pulling out that too so it will be properly installed. She was quite rude And Disrespectful. I was trying to ask questions about the infected tooth they can also questions about the tooth that she recommended get pulled out the secondary tooth but was not able to get proper response. Are you immediately refrained From talking and asking too many questions because of the uncomfortability. They just put out the infected tooth and sitting on my way which I was expecting to get antibiotics and pain medicine as well for the affected tooth they just put out but they did not let me know about any prescription and once again it was very uncomfortable to even ask the many questions because of their attitude and lack of respect. It was by far the most uncomfortable That I've ever been in any business office It was a very horrible experience. On top of that when I got home and looked in the mirror and swollen went down a lot I realized that she pulled out the secondary tooth that I back to not i wanted to wait and she agreed to just pull out just the infected tooth I was originally there for come to find out she already pulled out the secondary tooth. so I am looking into a lawyer and filing for a lawsuit. I do not recommend the Western Dental in Poway, San Diego, California.
