I have the biggest phobia when it comes to the dentist, and honestly, my teeth needed some serious care due to my prolonged absence from regular appointments- that being said, I just had to write a review about Tom Brannen, my dentist at Lanchester village practice. Firstly, I feel he listens well, and accommodates your concerns as best he can, and if that means rescheduling you to have an earlier, longer appointment to get work completed, then he does that ‘ I needed a special scan to check whether root canal treatment was viable and there wasn’t an available appointment on the calendar for several weeks, but again, the receptionist phoned me to say Tom was happy to stay a bit later at the Gosforth practice, so that I could proceed more efficiently to the treatment. At one appointment, the dental nurse asked him something and he replied ‘ No, this will take a bit longer because I want to get rid of all the decayed part of the tooth, otherwise we’re creating more problems for our patient down the line’. And I appreciated that so much. He is extremely professional, so thorough and methodical and I am thoroughly benefitting from his ‘high standards ethos.’ He has put me completely at my ease, and again today, stuck with a treatment that was proving to be somewhat tricky, he persevered until he was satisfied that he’d done it to the best of his ability- I cannot sing his praises highly enough. Believe me- this is a first- writing a glowing review for a dentist!!!

Brilliant Dentist, been going for years, can’t fault the professional treatment the staff are very helpful and friendly.

My own dentist referred me for treatment of a failed root canal. Tom Brannen carried out the procedure on two teeth. He explained the options beforehand and I was impressed by the quality of his work and the high standard of his skills. Also the staff were courteous and friendly. I would highly recommend Tom and the westlands dental studio to anyone.

I visited the practice on 3 September following a referral from my regular dentist for a root canal filling. First impressions of the practice, it was immaculate, the toilet was spotless, which in some practices is overlooked and Dawn on reception was very helpful. I spoke to Tom the dentist who explained the procedure in detail, he explained potential side effects, but was reassuring when he explained that all he does is root canals, you could say a specialist in his field. Despite taking almost 2 hours, yes, I was a bit sore after the procedure, but realistically it was expected. After the treatment I was shown x-rays of my tooth and the work completed, which in my opinion was to a high standard. Would I recommend Tom? I most certainly would, without a second thought, thank you to Tom and the team at Westlands

I have just visited for a hygienist appointment where I was totally put at ease by Molly and Sam who were both extremely patient , supportive and kind to me ( very nervous patient ) . Molly did an excellent job of cleaning my teeth and explaining the process. I’m really happy with the results. The practice is very clean and welcoming , all staff are friendly and put you at ease. I highly recommend this practice ☺️, really pleased my husband and I signed up .

First time visiting this dentist after several years at a different practice and it’s been an amazing experience. Sarah was Very welcoming, supportive and kind. Same for the dentist Dave and nurse Laura. No waiting time and I didn’t feel any discomfort at all. Extremely happy with the professional end result. Everyone was very supportive, positive attitude and remained patient with me. Overall the practice is very clean and I can’t recommend it enough. Thank you very much

I’ve just had a root canal re done by Tom following a poor procedure my normal dental practice. Tom was brilliant, I was very anxious as I’ve suffered for 5 years with my old root canal, Tom and his assistant were very reassuring throughout my 2 hour procedure. Already just after 2 days my tooth and gums feel more normal than they have in 5 years. I am seriously considering moving to the practice and I would highly recommend them. They provide a personal service and I felt cared for from moment I entered the practice rather than just a number. Thank you Tom and the team
