About Willow Bay Dental - Nicholas Mattila

Willow Bay Dental - Nicholas Mattila is a dental practice on Central Court in Green Bay, Wisconsin. A dental implant replaces a missing tooth at the root, not just the crown — a small titanium post is placed in the jaw bone and, once it has integrated over a period of months, a replacement tooth is attached to it. It is generally the most durable option for a single missing tooth or several.

Clear aligners straighten teeth through a series of custom, removable trays, each worn for one to two weeks before moving to the next in the sequence. They suit mild to moderate crowding and spacing well, and are worn roughly twenty to twenty-two hours a day for treatment to stay on schedule.

A veneer is a thin custom shell bonded to the front of a tooth to change its shape, length, or colour, most often used to address chips, gaps, or discoloration that whitening alone cannot fix. Traditional veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed, which makes the change permanent.

Cosmetic treatment is generally the least invasive branch of dentistry, built around changing how teeth look rather than fixing something broken. Whitening and bonding sit at the lighter end; veneers and reshaping involve more planning. Most cosmetic dental insurance excludes this kind of work, since it is elective rather than medically necessary.

Emergency dental care covers sudden problems that will not wait for a routine appointment — severe pain, a knocked-out or fractured tooth, swelling, or a lost filling that leaves a tooth exposed. Same-day or urgent appointments are the point of an emergency service, rather than the standard multi-week booking window.

A crown covers an entire damaged tooth — used when too much structure is missing for a filling to hold reliably, whether from a large fracture, extensive decay, or after root canal treatment. It restores both the shape and the biting strength of the tooth underneath. Dr Nick and Holly were great! I came in for a cleaning- telling them about an issue I’d been having, they examined the area - took action and now I’ll be in the office in two weeks for a f/u. I’m very happy with the care I receive at willow bay dental .

Amy was very professional as a hygienist. Dr.Nick is always thorough with examination and always asks if I have any questions.

The doctor and the hygienist are wonderful and their care has always been top notch. My concern, however, is with the administrative staff. After my appointment I was told to have a seat “for just a minute “ before I would be allowed to check out. I took a seat and quietly waited for what I expected to be a few minutes. More than thirty minutes went by before I went up to the desk. I was told “I will have to ask you to take a seat, we’re not quite ready “ even though the the person who told me that was the very person who had spent a large portion of my waiting time very loudly talking all about her daughter’s upcoming wedding, the dresses, the dj, this and that. When a said I had already been waiting more than thirty minutes, I was directed to a small office just off the main desk area. I very pleasant young woman in the smaller office asked for my name, found my information immediately, confirmed my next appointment, and said I was “all set “ and I was free to go. So why did I need to sit and wait for over thirty minutes listening to the front desk chit chat? How much longer might I have been kept waiting if I hadn’t gotten up when I did?

I’ve always had a great experience with my regular hygienist. However, during one visit when I came in to have two fillings done, there was almost a mix-up with another patient. I asked the technician if I was there for two fillings, and she seemed confused by my question. At first, I thought maybe I was misunderstanding something, but it turned out we were actually talking about two different patients. I would suggest verifying patients information before proceeding. Thankfully, the dentist caught the mistake before any work was done. I think he could tell from the confused look on my face when he was asking me questions. I appreciate that he took the time to verify everything and make sure the correct treatment was being performed. Mistakes can happen, but I’m grateful the team caught it before anything proceeded. Overall I like the environment and the staff do take their time to get to know their patients.

Fear the dentist no more people! The people in this office are so friendly and make you feel so comfortable. I recently had two crowns and two veneers (after the braces process) placed with Dr. Nick and he was fantastic. He truly made me feel like he was doing everything possible to ensure I was happy with the outcome (which I was). This office and the people in it are magic and blow every other dental office out of the water.
