About Wisdom Teeth Guys

Wisdom Teeth Guys operates on East Princess Drive in the North Scottsdale area of Scottsdale, Arizona. Wisdom teeth are removed when they are impacted, repeatedly infected, decayed, or damaging the tooth in front, since they arrive last and often into a jaw with no room left. Not every wisdom tooth needs to come out — one that erupts cleanly and can be kept clean is often left alone.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway. Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Wisdom Teeth Guys located in Scottsdale?
Wisdom Teeth Guys is on East Princess Drive in the North Scottsdale area of Scottsdale, Arizona (85255).
What days is Wisdom Teeth Guys open?
Wisdom Teeth Guys is open Monday through Saturday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does Wisdom Teeth Guys offer?
Listed services at Wisdom Teeth Guys include Wisdom Teeth Removal. The full list is shown on this page.
What age is best to have wisdom teeth taken out?
Late teens to early twenties is often easier, because the roots are less fully formed and bone is more forgiving, so healing tends to be quicker. Removal is still routinely done later when there is a reason for it.
How long is recovery after wisdom tooth removal?
Most of the swelling and discomfort settles within about a week, with the first two or three days the most noticeable. Surgical removal of an impacted tooth generally takes longer to recover from than a simple extraction.
How can I look after my teeth between appointments?
Brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and cleaning between the teeth daily covers most of it. Limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount consumed.

Not a good experience. Horrible communication. Took them forever to take my insurance details, multiple calls, and when I was finally able to get the insurance details taken, they said they wouldn’t be able to sedate me for the removal with the mental health medication I was on. I followed up with my doctor and we planned to get me off the medication safely. She said it would be totally fine after a week. I call the wisdom guys back and the girl said it didn’t matter, unfortunately I “still would not be a candidate for the sedation” I asked is there a reason? And all she would say is “for your safety” like ???? My wisdom teeth are HURTING and I desperately need them out. Super disappointed

The employees were incredibly kind and patient. They eased my nerves throughout the process and the surgery went smoothly. Overall, a really good experience for something that I was not looking forward to! If i remembered the assistant's name who helped me, I would give her a personal shout out. So kind, very good bedside manner and I hope her and her boyfriend try the Tataki sushi fusion restaurant we talked about!

My husband's appt went really well. Dr. Hilton was great. He is the head honcho there so we both felt really comfortable after knowing that. The anesthesiologist also had over 20 years of experience. The 2 ladies at the front desk was very friendly. It literally took them 15 mins to get 4 teeth out and the recovery has been as normal as it can be. Experience and friendliness is extremely important and they had both! Thank you everyone.

My dentist was unable to perform the extraction because one of my wisdom teeth was too close to a nerve, so he referred me to Wisdom Teeth Guys. From start to finish, they were kind and very professional. The extraction went very well, especially considering I had all four wisdom teeth removed that morning. Their pricing was fair compared to other offices, and I would definitely recommend Wisdom Teeth Guys.

Dr. Schenkman was seriously the best. I was nervous about the whole thing because at the previous dental office I had visited, they told me my nerve was close to the root of my tooth so there was a risk of nerve damage. However, Dr. Schenkman kept reassuring me throughout the process that it would be fine and it's exactly like he said. No nerve damage, no complications. I'm grateful he was my doctor; he definitely had a lot of experience. Also, the whole thing passed by in a blur. The last thing I remembered was the doctor reassuring me in the dental chair and I woke up at the end of my car ride. I'm on day 7 recovery now and everything is going smoothly. They even checked on me post op to make sure I was doing okay. 5/5 stars!
