Two-dentist North Broadway practice with a conservative bias: preserve the tooth before preparing it

About Yonkers Dental Arts
Yonkers Dental Arts works out of a suite in the professional building at 900 North Broadway, on the stretch of Route 9 that runs north out of the city toward the river villages. It is a two-dentist general practice rather than a large group, and that shows in how the office describes its own work. Dr. Alicia Schraner and Dr. Avi Malkis both practice general and cosmetic dentistry, and they put a conservative approach at the center of it, meaning they favor preserving a tooth over cutting it down whenever the evidence supports waiting.
Cosmetic restoration is where the practice's character is clearest. Veneers here are thin porcelain shells bonded to the front surfaces of prepared teeth, and the amount of enamel removed is the variable that decides how reversible the result is; a conservative preparation keeps more natural tooth and asks bonding to do more of the work. For discoloration that has not reached the point of needing veneers, the office offers ICON treatment for white spot lesions, a resin infiltration that fills the chalky porous patches often left behind after braces or early demineralization so they stop catching the light differently from the enamel around them. That is a genuinely conservative fix: no drilling, no crown, no anesthetic.
The rest of the menu is standard family coverage handled in-house. Hygiene visits and digital X-rays, root canals, extractions and gum treatment, tooth-matched fillings, crowns and bridgework, Invisalign, whitening and custom mouthguards are all listed, with emergency appointments worked into the schedule. Dental implants appear on the service list as well, though this is a restorative-led practice rather than a surgical one, so it is worth clarifying at consultation whether placement happens here or with a referred surgeon.
Hours suit people who live or work near northwest Yonkers rather than long-distance commuters. Weekday mornings start at nine, the early part of the week runs into the evening, Friday closes at two in the afternoon, and no weekend clinic is listed, so anything that flares on a Saturday needs a Monday call. If you need a large multi-specialist case, such as full-arch reconstruction or complex periodontal surgery, a bigger group may fit better. For steady general care, cosmetic work at the conservative end, and an honest second opinion on whether a tooth needs treating at all, this is the kind of small practice that suits.

Dr. Alicia Schraner and Dr. Avi Malkis describe their approach as conservative, favoring the smallest intervention a tooth actually needs. Alongside cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals, extractions and Invisalign, the office offers porcelain veneers and ICON resin infiltration for white spot lesions. Emergency appointments are worked into the schedule; weekdays open at nine, Friday closes at two, and no weekend clinic is listed.

The staff is very knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. The dental hygienist that performed cleaning was excellent and a good communicator. The doctor is outstanding and let’s you know what is going on.

A very professional and welcoming dental office. Dr. Ma and Dr. Schraner are both highly knowledgeable and personable, which made the experience comfortable and reassuring. The staff is friendly, attentive, and took the time to answer all my questions thoroughly. Special shoutout to Christine for keeping everything running smoothly and making the appointment seamless. Highly recommend!
I had an amazing experience at Yonkers dental arts. Dr. Schraner is the BEST she is gentle, patient, and takes the time to explain everything throughly. The staff is welcoming always with a smile and the office is clean and organized. I truly felt cared for. Highly recommend!
I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Schraner and her team. I have always been absolutely terrified of going to the dentist, but she completely changed that for me. She is incredibly gentle, patient, and takes the time to explain everything so you never feel anxious. Dr. Schraner goes above and beyond to make sure you’re comfortable every step of the way. I never thought I’d say this, but I actually don’t dread going to the dentist anymore. If you’re nervous like I am, she is amazing and I’m so grateful to have found her!
I came in specifically for a tooth that was hurting the most, but instead of addressing that issue, I received treatment on other teeth that wasn’t needed. It has now been 5 months, and I am still experiencing pain in the original tooth I initially came in for. Meanwhile, my insurance has been exhausted on procedures that I did not need, and I am now left paying out of pocket for treatments that was not necessary. This situation is extremely frustrating and disappointing. The staff working there are nice, but I feel like I got scammed. I am extremely disappointed with my experience, and the situation has only worsened after I shared my honest review. Since posting my feedback, I have been receiving excessive and persistent phone calls—up to 15 times a day pressuring me to remove my review. This behavior feels inappropriate, unprofessional, and harassing. In addition to the original issue where I came in for a specific painful tooth but received treatment on other teeth that I did not need I am now also being blamed for the treatment decisions that were made and recommended by the provider. This is unacceptable. Patients rely on dental professionals to diagnose and recommend appropriate care. Shifting responsibility onto the patient after the fact, especially when the outcome has been ongoing pain and financial burden, is deeply concerning. At this point, I am not only dissatisfied with the treatment itself but also with how this situation is being handled. I expect respectful communication not pressure, blame, or repeated unwanted calls. I am documenting this behavior and will take further steps if necessary
I’ve been going to Dr. Schraner for years, and the experience has always been exceptional. The staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with anything you need. The office itself is spotless and very well maintained. Dr. Schraner is truly the best—professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. She takes the time to explain everything and make sure you’re comfortable throughout your visit. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for top-notch dental care.
