Connection Dental is a dental provider network, not an insurance company, and it pays no benefits itself. Owned by GEHA, the G.E.H.A Connection Dental Network is a credentialed, URAC-accredited national dental PPO network of participating dentists who agree to set fee schedules, and it covers well over 200,000 provider locations nationwide. GEHA uses it for its own dental plans, including the FEDVIP plan Connection Dental Federal and the supplemental plan Connection Dental Plus, and also leases access to other carriers, third-party administrators and plan administrators. Whether a patient has any coverage, and how much, is determined by the plan or payer using the network, not by the network itself.
