Medica is a nonprofit health plan headquartered in Minnetonka, Minnesota, founded in 1975 by Minneapolis physicians as Physicians Health Plan. It serves employer, individual, Medicaid and Medicare members across Minnesota and neighbouring states including Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Medica-branded dental plans are provided and administered by Delta Dental of Minnesota, an independent nonprofit dental service company licensed by the Delta Dental Plans Association, which has authorised Medica to use the Delta Dental marks for those plans.
