What does orthodontic treatment involve?

Treatment starts with records (X-rays, photos, 3D scan) and a custom plan. Braces or aligners apply controlled forces that move teeth 1mm per month on average, with adjustments every 4–8 weeks. Typical active treatment runs 12–30 months.

Is orthodontic treatment painful?
