About Bitesize Pediatric Dentistry
Bitesize Pediatric Dentistry is a children’s dental practice on Union Avenue in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. The office focuses exclusively on pediatric dentistry, caring for infants, toddlers, school-age children, and teens.
A pediatric-only practice is built around how children experience a dental visit. Bitesize provides the full range of children’s care, including first dental visits, routine cleanings and examinations, fluoride treatment, dental sealants, and cavity treatment, along with guidance for parents on brushing, diet, and habits such as thumb-sucking. Early, regular visits help children grow up comfortable with the dentist and let the team monitor each child’s development over time.
The office is set up to make visits feel approachable for young patients, with child-friendly touches that help relax even nervous first-timers and give children something positive to associate with the dentist. The team is patient with toddlers and with children who find new experiences difficult, taking the time each child needs rather than rushing the visit.
A first dental visit is a milestone for the whole family, and the practice keeps explanations age-appropriate for the child and thorough for the parent, so families leave understanding what was found and what comes next.
Building a positive early relationship with the dentist matters: children who associate dental visits with a calm, friendly experience are far more likely to keep up good habits as they grow into adulthood.
Pediatric dentistry is also where early prevention has the most value, since habits formed in childhood and small issues caught at a routine visit shape how healthy a smile stays through the adult years.
The Union Avenue location is convenient for families across Williamsburg, East Williamsburg, and Greenpoint, and is served by area subway and bus routes. The office accepts credit cards, debit cards, and contactless payment. The team was wonderful with our toddler for their first visit.
The 5 star reviews are forced. They provide a wonderful first interaction then after you realize the hygienist are incapable and do not know what they are doing. The hygienist tried to make me feel guilty for not using flouride in my daughters mouth and was upset when I refused flouride treatment. Meanwhile my daughter has no cavities. In addition, billing and outrageous amount following my appointment because my insurance is out of network. Will not be returning.
The staff was very, very good with our son who vehemently did not want to be at the dentist. Highly recommend for kiddos!
Cannot recommend Bitesize Pediatric Dentistry enough. After my daughter broke her front tooth in a scooter accident after office hours, Dr. Rupin called us back almost immediately from the emergency line, reviewed photos while we were still at urgent care, and arranged for us to be seen first thing the next morning. Dr. Susan was incredibly caring, thorough, and reassuring, and even went out of her way to secure my daughter an appointment the very next day with a specialist she highly trusted for the reconstruction. We felt truly taken care of every step of the way. So grateful for their responsiveness, professionalism, and kindness.
My first impression of this place was awesome, but I have to change my initial review that I was forced to leave by this facility. The hygienist does not and I mean does not know what she was doing. While a routine cleaning this hygienist made my child choke. While cleaning my daughters teeth the hygienist forgot she needed to use the suction to remove excess water and salvia during the cleaning. She then told my daughter she could of just swallowed the water. I said why would she do that? The dentist came and quickly looked at my daughters teeth and moved on. I did not feel the exam was thorough enough and made me feel this may cause a risk for future issues. Will not be returning. Also, I am not sure why they schedule so many children at the same time.
First time patient and we were expecting a big fight from our little one, but everyone took such great care of him that it was easy-peasy lemon squeezy! ¡Excelente servicio!
Wow! Thank you for being super accommodating two both of my children especially with my son💙. The staff was truly amazing. Thank you!
I’ve been a patient at Bite Size for quite some time, but I will no longer be returning. I was informed today that treatment procedures are only scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. I find this extremely unreasonable, especially considering the office is open until 6:00 p.m. Restricting procedures to school hours makes it very difficult for working parents. It requires me to pull my child out of school and leave work for something as routine as a cavity filling. That simply isn’t practical. Additionally, when I expressed that this policy was not acceptable, Kathy hung up on me. That level of customer service is disappointing and unprofessional. I will be seeking a dental office that better accommodates working families and communicates more respectfully with patients.
We took our daughter here for her first dental appointment and the staff did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, we felt comfortable and welcomed. Everything was super clean, there was zero wait and we truly felt like all the staff went above and beyond to make the parents and patient feel at ease. They took the time to answer all of our questions, we didn’t feel rushed at all and they made our daughter leave with the biggest smile. We had Dr. Omer who was 10/10 - we highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!
My two kids have been going to bite size since they’ve had any teeth and we’ve only ever had a lovely experience. They are all friendly and great with the kids, they do have Netflix per seat so the kids are occupied (if you’re ok with that) and also give a balloon and vending toy at the end. We’ve always been super happy work them!
