About Brooklyn Comfortable Dental Care - Dr. Christopher Bowers
Brooklyn Comfortable Dental Care - Dr. Christopher Bowers provides dental care on Remsen Street in Brooklyn, New York. Dentists commonly treat mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea with a custom oral appliance that repositions the jaw to keep the airway open overnight, often used by patients who cannot tolerate a CPAP machine. A sleep study is generally the starting point for diagnosis.
Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.
Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.
Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.
Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.
Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts. Dr. Bowers and his team are amazing!. I have very sensitive teeth and they were incredibly accommodating and patient with me throughout my whitening treatment. Cynthia and Maria were fantastic, and Danya at the front desk made everything seamless from the moment I walked in. Highly recommend!
12/23/25 Update: Downgrading this review from 3 stars to 1 star to prompt management attention and to warn other patients. The clinical care here is excellent; the dentists and hygienists are skilled and professional. Unfortunately, the administrative and billing operation is dysfunctional, to the point that I am transferring elsewhere despite the quality of treatment. Issues I’ve experienced: Multiple appointments scheduled with a dentist, only to arrive and be told the doctor was not in the office, resulting in downgraded services without notice. Being overcharged by several hundred dollars and having to wait for reimbursement via mailed check. Repeated inability of the front desk to properly submit insurance claims. On one visit, we spent over an hour unsuccessfully attempting to submit a BlueCross BlueShield claim. Months-long failure to provide correct ADA insurance claim forms for services rendered on 5/5 and 11/13–11/26, totaling approximately $2,000. Errors have included incorrect dates, charges, and procedure codes. As of 12/23/25, this remains unresolved and is now putting my ability to file year-end insurance claims at risk. Emails to the office routinely go unanswered; phone calls result in assurances that are not followed through on. These are not minor inconveniences; they have real financial consequences for me. It’s unfortunate, because the clinical care is strong, but the administrative failures ultimately outweigh it.
Taylor the dental hygienist and Dr. Bowers continue to be the best!
Very cheerful and informative hygienist. Explained the procedure well and solicitous of any complaints of pain. Highly recommended, L
Taylor, the hygienist is AWEsome. the entire office is wonderful.
My visit was great! It was for me and my 11yr old son. No wait time, staff was friendly. But the best part was our hygienist Marie. She was awesome! She was thorough and shared more info with me and my son individually in oral care to help us understand more things better. I love her!!! My son also thought his visit was great. He told me all he learned and later that day I found him brushing his teeth after he ate. When I asked him why, he told me it was important to keep the food and bacteria from staying between the teeth and causing cavities... wow!
Can’t say enough good things about this dental office! The entire team is professional, attentive, and truly committed to making every visit comfortable. My hygienist, Taylor, was gentle yet thorough, and took the time to explain everything she was doing. The dentist, Dr. Bowers was equally amazing. Both were incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and patient with all my questions. The office itself is clean, modern, and calming. It’s clear they care about both their patients and the quality of care they provide. Highly recommend!
I recently visited Brooklyn Comfortable Dental Care and had an outstanding experience with both Dr. Bowers and Dental Hygienist Taylor. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel at ease, and the office environment was welcoming and professional. Taylor performed my dental cleaning with exceptional care and attention to detail. She was gentle, thorough, and took the time to explain each step, ensuring I was comfortable throughout the process. Her friendly demeanor and commitment to patient care truly stood out. Dr. Bowers conducted my dental examination and was equally impressive. He was knowledgeable, patient, and took the time to discuss my dental health, answering all my questions with clarity. His expertise and approachable nature made the experience reassuring and informative. Overall, the team at Brooklyn Comfortable Dental Care provided top-notch service. I highly recommend Dr. Bowers and Taylor to anyone seeking professional and compassionate dental care.
