About Brooklyn Periodontics & Implant Dentistry

Brooklyn Periodontics & Implant Dentistry operates on Court Street in Brooklyn, New York. Implants are considered by many dentists the most durable way to replace a missing tooth, since the titanium post fuses with the jaw bone over several months and then supports a crown that functions much like a natural tooth. Enough healthy bone is the main prerequisite, and a graft can build that up first if needed.

Gum disease treatment ranges from a deeper professional cleaning for early inflammation through to more involved periodontal care once bone around the teeth has started to be affected. Bleeding gums are usually the earliest sign, and the early stage is reversible with proper cleaning and better daily plaque control.

Periodontics is the specialty focused on the gums and the bone supporting the teeth, handling more advanced gum disease, related surgical treatment, and — in many practices — dental implant placement, which sits naturally alongside that training.

Bone grafting rebuilds jaw bone that has shrunk after a tooth has been missing for a while, most often as preparation for a dental implant that needs sufficient volume to anchor into. Healing generally takes several months before further treatment can proceed.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts.

A first appointment at a new practice typically covers a full examination, a review of your dental and medical history, and a professional cleaning, with X-rays if you do not have recent ones. It is also a reasonable time to raise any longer-term concerns, cosmetic or otherwise, so they can be factored into a plan going forward. Do dental implants hurt?
Placement is done under local anaesthetic, and most people compare the discomfort afterward to an extraction rather than something worse. Soreness for a few days is normal and usually manageable with standard pain relief.
Why do my gums bleed even though I brush twice a day?
Bleeding usually reflects where you are cleaning rather than how often. Plaque left along the gumline and between teeth causes inflammation there, which is exactly the area brushing alone tends to miss, so flossing or interdental brushes matter.
What are the early signs of gum disease?
Gums that bleed when brushing or flossing, redness and puffiness along the gumline, and persistent bad breath are the usual first indicators. Bleeding is the one most often dismissed, and it is the clearest early warning.

It was a superb and professional experience with an expert staff who were both courteous and caring in addition to their amazing expertise. Doctor Zidile was outstanding. To explain just how outstanding his work is , I would need many more posts. He clearly went through everything that was happening step by step and I was relaxed because I understood what was going on.. This is the #1 place to go to for Peridontal Services and or Implant Dentistry. I highly recommend it!

The attention given by the Dental Technicians was exceptional. I couldn’t be more pleased with the care and treatment I received from Dr. Zidile, I highly recommend Brooklyn Periodontist.

I am so thankful that my dentist recommended Brooklyn Periodontics! Dr. Zidele, Dr. Choi and all of their staff are exceptional. I usually suffer from anxiety when I need to have oral surgery but not at Brooklyn Periodontics! Everyone here is warm, friendly and patient which is so important. I would like to thank all of you for taking such good care of me. I wish more doctor’s offices were like everyone here. It is with great pleasure to say that I highly recommend Brooklyn Periodontics 😊😊😊

An absolutely amazing experience. From the moment I walked in the door, I was put at ease and was able to relax in their waiting room which felt more like a modest and very comfortable living room. Olivia the hygienist, was thorough, tactful, and most importantly, gentle. She explained each step before commencing with her next procedure. Dr. Zidile was very cordial, explained in clear detail, how I'm able to proceed with additional treatment. I intend to return to his office for further treatments.
