About Dental Arts of Brooklyn: Jason Liem, DDS

Dental Arts of Brooklyn: Jason Liem, DDS operates on Bay Ridge Parkway in Brooklyn, New York. Dentists commonly treat mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea with a custom oral appliance that repositions the jaw to keep the airway open overnight, often used by patients who cannot tolerate a CPAP machine. A sleep study is generally the starting point for diagnosis.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less.

Children benefit from starting dental visits early, generally by their first birthday or within six months of the first tooth coming through, mainly so they become familiar with the setting before any treatment is actually needed. Establishing that routine early tends to make ongoing checkups far less stressful for both child and parent.

Payment and insurance arrangements vary by practice and by treatment, so it is worth asking directly what is covered and what options exist for anything that is not, rather than assuming either way. Getting that clarified before treatment starts avoids surprises once it is underway.

Beyond any single treatment, most dental visits start with an examination — checking for decay, reviewing the gums, and looking at existing fillings or crowns — often alongside X-rays where there is a reason to look between or beneath teeth. That groundwork is what a dentist uses to explain any findings and set out next steps before you leave.

Routine attendance, roughly every six months for most people, is what actually keeps small problems small. A lot of decay and gum disease develops without any pain in its early stages, which is why regular checkups matter even when nothing seems to be wrong, rather than only booking an appointment once something hurts. Do I need a sleep study before getting an oral appliance for sleep apnea?
Generally yes — a diagnosis and severity assessment from a sleep study is the usual starting point, since it determines whether an oral appliance is an appropriate treatment or whether other options are more suitable.

Brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and cleaning between the teeth daily covers most of it. Limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount consumed.

Dr. Jason Liem and his assistant Juliana are the best dental team I’ve ever had. They are always polite, professional, and accommodating. The quality of care and service is exceptional. The front desk staff are also always friendly, helpful, and professional. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for excellent dental care.

I had an amazing experience here — the staff was warm, professional, and made me feel completely at ease. The dentist did outstanding work, and everything was explained clearly from start to finish. I truly felt like I was in good hands. Highly recommend this office to anyone looking for quality care and great service!

I had one of the worst experiences at this dental office. Despite having a scheduled appointment, I waited over two hours before being seen. What’s the point of setting an appointment if they’re incapable of managing their schedule? When I finally got into the chair, things only got worse. The dentist rushed through the procedure, and it was clear that attention to detail was not a priority. Unfortunately, this led to a mistake in the dental work—I had to visit another dentist shortly afterward to have it corrected. The new dentist informed me that the issue could have easily been avoided with proper care and technique. What made it even more frustrating was the lack of accountability. Instead of apologizing or offering a solution, the staff seemed indifferent, treating my concerns as though they were unimportant. If you’re looking for reliable, professional dental care where your time and health are respected, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. This office is not worth the frustration or the risk to your dental health.

Dr Jason Lien has to be one of the worst dentists in Brooklyn. My wife waited 2hrs for a check up. We are never coming here again. As for residents in the area. BEWARE. he barely does anything in the check up. Go else where but here
