About Dentistry for Madison

Based on West Washington Avenue in Madison, Wisconsin, Dentistry for Madison is a dental practice serving the area. A dental implant replaces a missing tooth at the root, not just the crown — a small titanium post is placed in the jaw bone and, once it has integrated over a period of months, a replacement tooth is attached to it. It is generally the most durable option for a single missing tooth or several.

Clear aligners straighten teeth through a series of custom, removable trays, each worn for one to two weeks before moving to the next in the sequence. They suit mild to moderate crowding and spacing well, and are worn roughly twenty to twenty-two hours a day for treatment to stay on schedule.

A veneer is a thin custom shell bonded to the front of a tooth to change its shape, length, or colour, most often used to address chips, gaps, or discoloration that whitening alone cannot fix. Traditional veneers require a small amount of enamel to be removed, which makes the change permanent.

Cosmetic treatment is generally the least invasive branch of dentistry, built around changing how teeth look rather than fixing something broken. Whitening and bonding sit at the lighter end; veneers and reshaping involve more planning. Most cosmetic dental insurance excludes this kind of work, since it is elective rather than medically necessary.

Emergency dental care covers sudden problems that will not wait for a routine appointment — severe pain, a knocked-out or fractured tooth, swelling, or a lost filling that leaves a tooth exposed. Same-day or urgent appointments are the point of an emergency service, rather than the standard multi-week booking window.

A crown covers an entire damaged tooth — used when too much structure is missing for a filling to hold reliably, whether from a large fracture, extensive decay, or after root canal treatment. It restores both the shape and the biting strength of the tooth underneath. Had a great experience getting a crown, I appreciated that Dr. Foster took the time to explain what he was doing throughout my visit. It's also certainly quite nice that they have the in-house milling machine to do the crown same-day instead of multiple visits.

Highly recommend Dentistry of Madison!! This is the very first time I see a dentist in Madison. I have a last minute appointment because my front crown bridge fell off. I called in the morning right when they open and they were able to squeeze me in same day! Really appreciate that they do that and the staffs are all very professional and kind.

An Honest, Skilled Dentist Who Truly Cares - Dr. Hazen is Exceptional!! I had an outstanding experience with Dr. Hazen at Dentistry for Madison. After chipping a tooth, I felt overwhelmed because my smile is a big part of my confidence. Since trust is everything to me in a dentist, I did thorough research (consulting multiple platforms and reading countless reviews) before choosing his practice, and I’m so glad I did. What stood out most was Dr. Hazen’s integrity. In the past, other dentists have pushed unnecessary (and expensive) procedures on me, only for a second opinion to confirm I didn’t need them. It made me wary of hidden upsells. But Dr. Hazen is different, he recommends only what’s truly necessary, even if it means a simpler, more affordable solution. In my case, the chip was minor, and instead of pushing for a filling or veneer, he gently filed and smoothed the tooth, exactly what I needed, nothing more. His approach was honest, practical, and tailored to my situation. I felt genuinely cared for, like he was treating my teeth as if they were his own. I chose Dr. Hazen based on glowing reviews, and now I’m writing this as my own thank you, both to him and to those who helped me make the right decision. If you want a skilled, ethical dentist who prioritizes your best interest over profit, Dr. Hazen is your best choice! He’s the real deal! I also want to extend my gratitude to Dr. Hazen’s team/staff. They treated me with kindness, patience, and genuine care, making what could have been a stressful visit into a truly pleasant experience. Their professionalism and warmth reflect the high standards of the entire practice. ♥ Everyone seems happy to work there and its just an overall happy place :) Thank you all! you’re an amazing group, and it’s clear why patients hold this office in such high regard. ♥

I just moved to Madison a few months ago and experienced a complication with one of my crowns, so I needed to find a place on a whim with new insurance. It was a stressful situation momentarily but Dentistry for Madison was able to squeeze me in relatively quickly and I was able to get my situation sorted out. For that, I am very thankful and overall it was a great experience! In previous years, it almost is never a positive experience at the dentist.

I was referred to Dr. Hazen by a current patient after I found out I had to get a root canal done. I am from out of town and have always had bad anxiety when it comes to dentists. Dr Hazen and his staff were incredible. They went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable while also giving me the absolute highest level of care. Truly an amazing experience.

I’ve had nothing but great experiences here. Cleanings are fantastic and I love the friendly staff. Staff are mindful of any issues (tooth or gum sensitivity) you might have and ensure that you’re comfortable through whatever means necessary. Dr. Hazen also did my crowns last year and my only regret is not doing them sooner! I cannot recommend this office enough.

I had my first visit today and it went very well! I'm usually pretty nervous at the dentist, but the staff here are so patient, knowledgeable and kind. Dr Hazen is very friendly and intelligent and explains things very well. The office is very comfortable and you can tell everyone here takes pride in their work. If you are looking for a dentist in the area, I really recommend this office!
