Smyleee Rating
Good
dntl bar is a general dentistry practice at 776 Sixth Avenue in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. The practice offers routine dental care, Invisalign treatment, and sedation-assisted dentistry in a modern, patient-comfort-focused environment on the west side of lower midtown Manhattan.
Professional dental cleanings and comprehensive oral examinations are the foundation of care at dntl bar. The hygiene team — including Minseo, a hygienist noted for careful, thorough work — performs detailed cleanings and communicates findings with patients throughout the appointment. General restorative services including fillings are provided alongside preventive care.
Each treatment room at the practice is equipped with a television, which allows patients to watch content during their appointment. This feature is particularly useful for patients with dental anxiety, as having something to focus on during a procedure significantly reduces the stress of sitting in the dental chair. Sedation dentistry is also available for patients who need additional support for more involved procedures.
Invisalign clear aligner treatment is a notable service at dntl bar. The practice has guided patients through complete Invisalign courses as well as retainer fabrication for patients who have completed treatment elsewhere and need replacements or refinements. Same-day emergency dental appointments have been accommodated for patients experiencing acute dental issues, including patients who had no prior relationship with the practice.
The practice currently operates as a single location in Chelsea, having consolidated from multiple former locations across the city. New patients should confirm provider availability and scheduling flexibility when booking. The front desk team handles appointments and insurance-related questions.
Sixth Avenue near West 26th Street in Chelsea is served by the 1 train at 28th Street and the F/M at 23rd Street. The C/E trains are accessible at 23rd Street on Eighth Avenue. The location is well positioned for patients from Chelsea, the Flatiron District, the West Village, and Hell’s Kitchen.

I had my first experience at The DNTL Bar today and was really pleased with the services provided. The office is a clean, modern, and cozy space fitted with plenty of comfortable chairs in the waiting room. From start to finish, the team made the process seamless: • Front Desk: I was warmly greeted by Shelly, the very friendly receptionist. She helped me navigate my paperwork efficiently to ensure I was seen as soon as possible. • Clinical Staff: Soon after, I was called back by Pearl. She executed my 3D x-rays and led me to the treatment room. She went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable, even setting me up with a reclining chair and Netflix (she even asked for my show preference!) while I waited for the doctor. • Dr. Do: Dr. Do walked in with an enthusiastic introduction and a warm welcome. We discussed the plans for my specific dental issues in great detail. Most importantly, he took the time to understand my anxiety levels regarding dental visits to ensure I was completely at ease. He made sure I understood and was happy with the plan before moving forward. I can truly say I have never been to a dental office that made me feel so welcome, reassured, and actually excited about my future visits. They use state-of-the-art equipment, the space is immaculately clean, and the staff are both knowledgeable and kind. Highly recommended!
I’ve been going here since I had a dental emergency a few years ago. They could get me in same day and took care of the issue successfully. I’ve been going for my twice a year cleanings ever since. Nice people, easy to talk to, communicative and very aware of your comfort while at the dentist. Would recommend for anyone who is anxious at dentist offices. They have TV while you’re there and always check that you’re doing ok. Just got Invisalign retainers from them. Easy and didn’t break the bank for a preventative dental procedure.
As much as I would like to give Dntl Bar five stars because Dr. Do is truly incredible, my overall experience with this practice over the years has been exhausting. They opened multiple locations across NYC only to abruptly close them all and consolidate into a single Chelsea location. That shift was not only concerning but also extremely inconvenient. I understand that, like many privately owned dental practices, they were likely bought out without much input from employees. However, since then, the quality of customer service has dropped significantly. It declined to the point where I spent most of this year seeing a different dentist, until Dntl Bar reached out this fall to schedule my final annual cleaning. I had to reschedule a few times due to illness and scheduling conflicts, but we eventually confirmed an appointment for Monday, December 29th at 2:00 pm. I made this appointment on December 12, 2025, and during the two weeks leading up to it, I was never contacted about any insurance issues. I arrived promptly at 2:00 pm for my cleaning and to have my Invisalign buttons removed, only to be told at the front desk that they no longer accept my insurance. This was incredibly confusing, as insurance verification should happen well before a patient arrives. I have been a Dntl Bar patient for years and have never had a problem with my insurance, so it was unclear whether this was a new policy or a recent change. I was then informed that I would need to pay nearly $600 out of pocket that day and that my insurance would reimburse me sometime later, possibly in two weeks. When I asked when they discovered this issue, I was first told it was that morning. I then asked why no one contacted me to give me the option to reschedule, cancel, or prepare for the upfront cost. The receptionist then said she actually found out an hour earlier. At that point, it was frustrating to hear that no one thought to call, especially since I traveled over an hour to get there. You should not inform someone they owe $600 only after they walk through the door. I then asked if I could at least have my Invisalign buttons removed, since I had already paid for that service out of pocket. I ended up waiting over 30 minutes past my scheduled 2:00 pm appointment time just for that service. When I was finally brought back, I asked the dental hygienist how long the button removal would take, and she said under an hour. This directly contradicted what I had been told by the receptionist on Friday, December 26th, when she said the entire visit, including the cleaning and button removal, would take one hour total. I had scheduled other appointments immediately afterward based on that information. The hygienist then informed me that I was actually booked for two separate appointments, one at 2:00 pm for the cleaning and another at 3:00 pm for the button removal. None of this was communicated to me when I booked on December 12th, in any reminder texts, or during my phone call with the receptionist on Friday. They also do not send emails, which only added to the confusion. The complete lack of communication throughout the day was incredibly frustrating, and honestly, I am almost relieved that they no longer accept my insurance. While I will truly miss Dr. Do and his warm, kind presence, this experience left me feeling disappointed and drained. What a terrible day.
DNTL Bar is great - the front desk and dental staff are friendly and professional, and scheduling is flexible and easy. I’ve been a satisfied customer for several years. Minseo is a wonderful hygienist who gives a thorough and careful cleaning that leaves my teeth feeling great. The dental staff is attentive to detail and make every visit comfortable. I always look forward to my appointments and will continue to come back!
I had a really great experience with a cleaning and exam at DNTL Bar. The vibe was encouraging and the treatment was almost relaxing. The exam was really thorough. I would go back any time, best experience EVER.
