Patients considering treatment at this practice are advised to take several protective steps before and after each visit. Prior to any treatment, request a complete written treatment plan with itemized procedures and their individual costs, and ask for confirmation of what will be submitted to your insurance provider. Before agreeing to any procedure, verify independently with your dental insurance company what charges are expected to be submitted on your behalf. After each visit, review your Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statement from your insurer to confirm that the services listed match exactly what was performed during your appointment. If you identify any discrepancy between billed procedures and services actually provided, report this to your insurance company directly.
These steps are sound practice at any dental office and are especially important for patients managing their dental insurance carefully. Obtaining written documentation of all charges before treatment begins protects patients and creates a clear record for insurance purposes.
The Murray Hill location is accessible from multiple transit options in Midtown Manhattan. Patients from Murray Hill, Kips Bay, Midtown East, and other nearby neighborhoods can use the contact information on this page to ask about services, insurance, and appointment availability before scheduling a visit.
Before scheduling a first visit, calling ahead to confirm which insurance plans are currently accepted and what out-of-pocket costs apply to a standard new patient examination is a practical precaution at any general dental office. This ensures clarity about costs before treatment begins.

Well, Dr. Fan Mou has been my dentist now for quite some time, me traveling from Central Park North to her office on Madison Ave at 33rd St. while also recently visiting her other beautiful office in Great Neck, I'm just very fortunate and grateful, for she is really top notch, exhibiting the most current in technological advances. I must apologize for not posting a review till this time, my putting off rationalized by her 5 star ratings! 3D technology was utilized following my most recent root canal to construct the cap. How cool is that? And you can tell she's really into her job, never hesitating to explain the science behind all interventions and treatments. Also, I've experienced very little pain with the numerous root canal and implants she's done for me. I just want to wish her continued success, with hope that other's will learn from her "best practices" and high standards. Thanks Dr. Mou
DDO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! They were overcharge. I made the appointment a weeks early and received an emergency charge for $450 on my bill. Then I called them, they told me it is no big deal. Your insurance company will pay for it. It is ridiculous. For deep cleaning, they charged me $2000. And asked me to pay cash of $250, and told me to ignore the insurance bill again they will negotiate with the insurance company. It is a fraud. They charge lots of fees which I didn't take. They are a liar. And I will report this to my insurance company. Recently I change my dental, they told me my dental insurance budget is gone due to previously dental charges and twice the outpatient fees. It is ridiculous. Avoid. If you plan to change the dentist, you will know what is happening to your dental insurance.
I started visiting Dr Mou's office at the suggestion of one of my nurse colleagues. It's now been over 10 years and I have never looked back. Dr Mou has great bedside manner. I usually get my teeth cleaned every 6 months. Her and her assistant are very attentive and gentle with their care. She foresees any issues before they become big problems and tries to fix them on the spot (or schedules another quick visit at times at discount rate). So, I was one of those people who wasn't aware to keep wearing her retainers after braces and ended up back with all the gaps between my teeth. Dr Mou helped me successfully transitioned to Invisalign trays. She kept a close eye on the health of my teeth during the process. At some point in my early visits, I developed gingivitis and she coordinated for me to have surgery in her office with one of her surgical colleagues. She worked with my insurance and always had suggestions on ways to make her visits even more affordable. The office stays on top of all my visits with frequent text reminders. I never had an issue waiting inside the office. And now with Covid, safety is not even an issue. I feel like I'm the only one there for my timeslot. They also go through a pre-visit as well as an in-office questionnaire asking about your symptoms with temperature check. I always leave the office feeling my teeth were thoroughly cared for.
Poor communication and bad experience at this place. Confirmed insurance and appointment, then wanted $100 copay. The worst and unprofessional !
Very professional, and considerate for patient. Highly recommend!
