About Flatlands Dental Care

Flatlands Dental Care operates on Flatlands Avenue in Canarsie, in the same neighborhood corridor as several other long-standing family dental practices. The patient base skews toward residents who've lived in southeast Brooklyn for decades — families that've passed dental practices down across generations, kids who later become adult patients at the same office where they had their first cleaning. The practice is set up for that long-term relationship pattern rather than transactional one-off visits.

Cavity treatment makes up a steady share of the schedule. The team uses tooth-colored composite materials by default, with single-surface and multi-surface fillings, replacement fillings, and the call between filling and crown when more tooth structure has been lost than a simple repair can address. Beyond fillings, services include cleanings, exams, root canals for teeth where decay has reached the nerve, crowns and bridges, basic extractions, gum-disease screening, teeth whitening, and emergency dental care. The dentist will show you the cavity on the intraoral camera before treatment so the recommendation feels grounded in what you can see.

If you're new to Canarsie or Flatlands and looking for a family dental practice that handles the whole household, a comprehensive new-patient exam here gives you a single anchor for the family across age groups.

Patients searching for general dentist near me in Brooklyn, family dentist in Brooklyn, or routine dental care in Brooklyn tend to choose practices like this one when continuity and the older neighborhood-dentist model matter more than chain efficiency. The new-patient exam typically combines comprehensive radiographs, periodontal screening, and a treatment-plan walkthrough into a single visit. For Canarsie, Flatlands, and East Flatbush families picking a regular dental home, this Flatlands Avenue practice is worth a first appointment and the kind of place that retains patients across decades. Insurance acceptance, hours, and current new-patient availability shift across the year, so a phone call before booking is the most reliable way to confirm what's in-network and which slots open up this week.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Flatlands Dental Care located in Brooklyn?
Flatlands Dental Care is on Flatlands Avenue in Brooklyn, New York (11236).
What days is Flatlands Dental Care open?
Flatlands Dental Care is open seven days a week. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does Flatlands Dental Care offer?
Listed services at Flatlands Dental Care include Cosmetic Dentistry, Root Canal Treatment, Emergency Dentistry, Dental Crowns and Dental Bridges. The full list is shown on this page.
What are tooth-coloured fillings made of?
They are composite resin, a mix of plastic and fine glass particles that is shaded to match the surrounding tooth and bonded into place. The main appeal over silver amalgam is appearance, particularly on teeth that show when you smile.
How long do dental fillings last?
It varies with the material, the size of the filling, and where it sits in the mouth. Fillings are not permanent — they wear, chip, and eventually leak at the edges, which is one reason routine check-ups examine existing work as well as looking for new decay.
Is a professional cleaning necessary if I brush and floss well?
Yes, because brushing and flossing cannot remove tartar once it has hardened onto the tooth. Only a professional instrument can take that off, and it is the hardened deposit rather than soft plaque that drives most gum problems.

I was really nervous about going to a new dentist but everyone in the office was very kind and ensured that my first visit went smoothy. I can tell the staff is very welcoming and warm based on their interactions with not only me but other patients and each other as well. Both the dentist assistant and dentist were very attentive, informative and patient.

They don’t do emergency extractions. The nurses and receptionist are cool, the dentists in there isn’t friendly they only go by their job and not reason. Matter fact I had a root canal once before there a few years back, and woke up with a extra tooth missing. The Wisdom to be exact
