About Harris Orthodontics

Harris Orthodontics provides dental care on Preston Road in the Park Cities area of Dallas, Texas. Traditional braces use brackets and wires to gradually move teeth into alignment, handling complex bite corrections and significant crowding more predictably than removable alternatives. Treatment commonly runs one to three years, with a retainer worn afterward to hold the result.

Day-to-day oral health still comes down to the basics between visits — brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, cleaning between the teeth, and limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount eaten at once. Regular professional care is what catches whatever those habits do not.

Digital X-rays are a routine part of dental care because they show what a visual exam alone cannot — decay forming between teeth, bone loss below the gumline, and how developing adult teeth are positioned in children. They use a low radiation dose and are taken on a schedule matched to individual risk rather than at every single visit.

Left untreated, small dental problems tend not to stay small. A minor cavity that would have been a straightforward filling can progress to needing root canal treatment and a crown, and early gum inflammation that would have reversed with a good cleaning can progress toward bone loss around the teeth. Catching things early is generally the difference in both effort and cost.

Continuity matters in dental care — seeing the same practice over time means your history, X-rays, and any patterns in your oral health are already on file, rather than starting from scratch at each visit. That familiarity is part of what a regular dental home offers beyond any single appointment.

Dental anxiety is common, and most practices are used to working with nervous patients — through clear explanations of what is about to happen, a slower pace where needed, and sedation options for patients who want them. Avoiding the dentist out of anxiety tends to make eventual treatment more involved, not less. Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Harris Orthodontics located in Dallas?
Harris Orthodontics is on Preston Road in the Park Cities area of Dallas, Texas (75205).
What days is Harris Orthodontics open?
Harris Orthodontics is open Monday through Thursday. Contact the practice through this page to confirm current appointment times before travelling.
What services does Harris Orthodontics offer?
Listed services at Harris Orthodontics include Braces. The full list is shown on this page.
Will I need a retainer after braces?
Yes, and indefinitely in some form. Teeth have a persistent tendency to drift back toward their original positions, and retainers are what prevent years of treatment from gradually undoing itself.
What age is best for braces?
Assessment around age seven is often suggested so developing problems can be spotted, though treatment itself usually starts later once enough adult teeth are through. Adults can be treated at any age provided the gums and bone are healthy.
How can I look after my teeth between appointments?
Brushing twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and cleaning between the teeth daily covers most of it. Limiting how often sugary food and drink appear through the day matters more than the total amount consumed.

I had a really good experience at Harris Orthodontics. Dr. Bean and Lisa were both wonderful to work with. They took the time to explain my treatment plan clearly, answered all my questions, and helped me find the best solution for my situation. Everyone was friendly and professional, and I felt well taken care of throughout the process. Highly recommend!

We had a great first appointment with Lisa and Dr. Harris for a consult! They were both patient, kind and encouraging for young kiddos. Dr. Harris never rushed us and answered all of our questions. We so appreciated all of the time he spent with us and his calm demeanor!

Lovely people. I was traveling out of state with my kiddos. One forgot his ortho bands. I googled the closest orthodontist and ended up here. They helped me find the size of bands I needed, gave me be a bag of bands, and didn’t even charge me for them. This place is ‘good people’. Thank you Harris dental for being a smile on my vacation.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful! Lisa and Dr. Harris did a great job of explaining my options. As a former smile direct club patient, they took care of my needs for additional aligners and a retainer. I was pleasantly surprised that my retainer treatment will be ready in just one week following my visit. I’m happy I chose to go through Harris Orthodontics.
